We took our 2 and a half year old grandson on a rainy summer day. The place was jam-packed with children, parents and grandparents. There was plenty of room, though, and everybody seemed to be having a good time. Our grandson loved the firetruck and the airplane in particular. I loved how the workings of a small town were right... More

I took my kids to Discovery Place Kids for the firs time after wanting to do it for a while and I'm glad we did. We got there right at 9am when they opened because it was during the summer and I knew this place would be a zoo by lunch time and I was RIGHT! By 10am the place... More

I went today and saw that their prices are $10.00 per person for everyone over one years old. That includes parents. I didn't like that parents had to pay full price and when I asked about it the cashier told me not to beat her up about it and told me I was being rude. I said something to the... More

Even though it is a bit of a drive from Charlotte, I recommend this over Discovery Place for smaller children. Hours of entertainment, cute puppet show. I would go early... We were there when it opened at 9am and it didn't get super crowded until around 11am, which is when we decided to leave. We will definitely come back on... More

This is an excellent children's museum. The cost is $10.00 for everyone age 1 and above, and you must be with a child to enter. We got there when it opened on Sunday at noon, but had to wait 10 minutes to pay our admission because both families in front of us decided to become members. It took some time... More

DPK is a great place for younger children. You can touch, push, pull, drag, pick up anything and everything. Most of it is simple eye/hand coordination stuff. Older elementary students may not like it because it has low cognitive challenges.

Recommend this place to anyone looking to spend an hour or two with preschool age kids. This place is very similar to Edventure in Columbia both in size and activities. Admission was $10 for both kids or adults, not the best bargain around but reasonable considering numerous activities for young children. Its located about 15 minutes outside of Charlotte, and... Our granddaughters love this place, and so do we! There are so many different areas for children to use imaginative play: on a tractor, a submarine, a kitchen, a garden, a medical clinic, a boat...to name just a few. There are areas where kids can climb, slide, dress-up, and play in water. Plan on spending several hours here. The areas... More

How in the world have I lived in the Carolinas all these years and not known about this museum? We went with a group of friends with little kids and had a fantastic day. There is so much to do, the $10 fee per person is not at all out of line. Our group played till they dropped!

Plenty to see and do! Interesting for adults as well. Loved it! The hands on exhibits make it well worth it. It helps to teach sciencce in a creative way.
