Dry Falls is amazing. First off, the walk down is nice, I believe they just remodeled it and it shows. Then the view once you first see the falls is beautiful. I loved walking behind the falls and getting sprayed with mist with my dog was awesome! This place is a quick pull off, and the whole trip can take... More

We visited Highland, NC in October 2012 the pick of the Fall colors. Dry falls is very much accessible and trail is properly made stairs till the fall, you can actually go behind the fall to have breeze of splashes. This was our second time to fall and I see some good steps taken (by nature or government there), the... More

Dry Falls offers you the opportunity to stand behind and below the waterfalls and watch the water cascade down in front of you. It's a very cool perspective and offers some great photo opps. The water does spray on you a little bit but you don't really get wet. The temp drops about ten degrees when you're standing behind the... More

This waterfall is very accessible as you head toward Highlands from Franklin. It is easier to access going up than coming down the mountain.

Dry Falls is located off of U.S. 64, 3.5 miles west from Highlands, 16.5 miles east from Franklin. Of the three falls along U.S. 64, this one provides the biggest off road parking lot (with primitive bathrooms in parking lot) with well consructed steps and walkway down to the falls, which you can walk behind getting a little wet with... One of many beautiful falls to visit. Very easy to navigate, and close to main street. One of the larger falls in the area.

Beautiful views and you can actually walk under the falls. You get a shower but it is well worth it.

Dry Falls is a short drive west of downtown Highlands. A walk down stairs brings you right to the falls where you can walk behind the waterfall and enjoy the magnificent scene.

If your near Highlands NC, travel about 5.7 miles on 64W to Dry Falls which is 2.5 miles past Bridle Veil Falls. Dry Falls is an easy walk down a sloping walkway with 73 steps. It's worth the time to see this waterfall which you can walk behind and only get water mist on you.

I highly suggest this! You can walk behind the falls and take pictures. The water pressure is so great you can feel the flow of the water as you are driving up the mountain! This is a must !!!!
