Love the one mile loop trail with tons of scenic views around the entire route. The views are amazing, the hike is great for a family, and we saw falcons flying around!

If you like to hike, this is a wonderful trail. The first half is uphill which will get your blood flowing, but easy in the sense that the trail is well maintained and there is even stairs in certain places to help with your footing. The uphill hike is definitely worth it when you get to the top. This trail... More

There are two trails up. The quick one challenges your legs, but the other is a reasonable slope to the top. Once there, the views are fantastic. Try it. You'll love it!

My husband, kids, and myself took a nice hike to Whiteside. It was a lovely trip and full of beautiful and scenic views. There are 2 routes you can choose from: one that is faster and one that is longer and has more views. Both are nice, but the longer one is steeper.

We went on a very overcast and cloudy day so the views were pretty much non existent. The trail was well marked, although at first we followed toe stone road and had to double back to the start of the trail The hike is not too difficult, but I do not know if I would take my younger children, it... My husband and I stopped here before going into the Highlands. We went left at the fork reading other reviews. The trail took us an hour but we walked at a pretty fast pace. The views from the top are spectacular! Would love to go there again soon!

We went there in February when the ground was covered with snow. There is a $2 honor system parking fee, but there are also rustic restrooms at the end of the parking lot. As everything was covered in snow we decided to go up on the right taking the stairs to the mountain top and reached there in 35 minutes.... More

This is a 2 mile hike that, under great conditions, will take you around 1-1/2 hours to do. This is a loop. If you take the left, it is more of a steady incline. The right direction starts out immediately with steep stairs and a path. Depending on how you want to start and stop your hike. This is not... More

Moderate hike with FABULOUS views!! Well worth the 1.5 hours to do the round-trip hike! There is a less difficult trail going up - take the left.

Because I'm 65, I tend to go up the left fork and come down the right. When I first began hiking Whiteside, there were no toilets, not stairs, but beautiful. On a clear day there are fabulous views around the 2 mile loop. It is not a strenuous hike and fine for beginners. Wear good shoes, not flip flops! You... More
