I love Rocky Face Mountain Recreational Area! Operated by Alexander County, this park has five miles of moderate to strenuous hiking trails, an ADA accessible walking track, a picnic shelter with restrooms, an overnight campsite, geocaching, and beautiful views from atop the mountain. If your family loves the outdoors, this is a must-do on your list! www.RockyFacePark.com

We were staying in Statesville for the weekend & drove up here for a day hike. The path has some rocks & uneven area that are a little difficult. Overall it was a great hike & the sights were beautiful!

A walking stick would have been helpful; some of the paths were steep and crossed streams (may have been from the recent rains though). Next time, I will take my cell phone (just in case of accidents) and camera. Thanks to the Eagle Scout... More
