Catawba Science Center has many hands on activities for children of all ages, yes adults too. You will want to visit not only for the enjoyment you child or children gets plus the learning experiences. When my boys were young, we had several birthday parties there and they were great.

When it's raining and we can't take our son outside to play this a great spot to go. For visitors of Hickory this location has some really cool exhibits and the staff is great and very helpful.

We had hoped to do something outside with the grandchildren but heavy rains all week obviated outside activities. They enjoyed the interactive science activities a lot. And asked a million questions about the science behind the dynamics of golf ball movement, and air currents etc. The dinosaur exhibit had them wanting to be picked up but they warmed up to... More

Great place to visit often. The science center, and aquarium is a favorite spot when I have children come to town. The art exhibits are impressive and thought provoking. I go often and advise others to do the same. Hickory is so lucky to have this fabulous resource.

Not so much for teens or adults. Lots of hands on and a good learning experience. A few older exhibits but still worth it.

I wanted to do something fun and inexpensive with my 6 year old, and this hit the spot. We had lot to do, and even stayed for a star gazing experience. It's worth the money, and the visit was great.
