Great little place for a day visit, without having to go to a big city. Many interesting exhibits, there are even some animal exhibits. There is a small pool where you can actually touch manta rays. Once in a while they have a wonderful butterfly exhibit which is worth the trip.

I wasn't sure what to expect for the price, but to my surprise it was great! My girls loved all the interactive stations. Kept my kids busy for several hours. They learned so much! Their favorite part was the aquarium.

I wasn't expecting much for $8 but I was overly impressed with this place. They had a little bit of everything or everyone. The grandkids kept saying, "grandma, this place is better than COSI ", an expensive well known Science Museum in Columbus, Ohio, we had visited a few weeks ago. We all loved the stingrays. We spent about 4... More

We love the Catawba Science Center! On the 3rd Friday of the month, admission is free but because of this, it's also very crowded. My son (almost 5 years old) loved it as much as Discovery Place and Discovery Place Kids and the cost was much better compared to them as well. Free parking directly in front of building. Friendly... This science center is easily better than Discovery Place Charlotte (where we are members). My kids (ages 2 and 5) could have spent the entire day there (and had to be dragged away after 3 hours). The stingray exhibit is super interactive. I know of aquariums that charge $15 for that alone. LOTS of bang for your buck here!

Sure, there are bigger, more modern, and simply more diverse science centers around, but that doesn't make it a bad place to visit. Exhibits are small and sometimes reflect regional topics like recently Fiber Optics. The aquarium is equally small, and our kids (2 and 5) are typically fully entertained during our 3 hour visits. Unfortunately there wasn't a butterfly... More

The science center was only 8 dollars for adults and 6 dollars for children between 3 and 18. no cost for children under three. The one thing i liked about this particular place is that it had several hands-on exhibits that would appeal to young adults, such as the magnetism exhibits where you have to power a tv with manual... My sister and I visited the Science Center with my 2 small nieces. The girls were free and our adult tickets were $8 a piece. I think that is a fair price for the experience you are getting. There is a planetarium, aquarium, inventor's workshop, animal room, play areas and more. It had expanded since I had last been when... More

This is a fun and affordable place for everyone to enjoy. The 'hands on' exhibits for the kids are great, but the animals are fun too! They are always planning on special and time-limited exhibits as well (dinosaurs, butterflies, et.) so best to check before you go. Next door is a wonderful Planetarium, and the Art Museum also........you can really... More
