The visitors center and trail are very peaceful. We say about 4 different types of Heron's and many other birds. The observation tower at the end of the first section of trail affords a nice view to capture pictures with a zoom in camera. A must do for any bird/wildlife watcher!

The trail is all there, as is the nature center. For people interested in wheelchair access, all of the trail, including several wildlife observation platforms, and the lower level of the observation tower are accessible for wheelchairs. The impoundment on one side and the ponds/swamps on the other are swarming with birds, we also see deer, muskrats, and raccoons there.... More

The trail has been cut down to just a walk to the observation tower on one side of the pond, but it still provides for lots of birding and other wildlife watching ooprtunities. Egrets, herons, ducks, swans, songbirds, turtles, muskrats, deer, raccoons (the latter two - dusk and dawn) all around. Nature center doesn't have much of a wildlife display,... More
