Good variety and a lot of interactive areas. Just not enough information shared. Perhaps there no funding for staff to provide it. We didn't know or understand what we were looking at some of the time. Not enough directional signs... Get lost easy in there.

Schiele Museum is a great learning experience and has been a community favorite for as long as I have known. Schiele is very active with events and environmentally friendly. They also work with other local businesses, including the hotel I manage. This museum is more than a museum. Schiele has meeting space, provides learning programs for children, and hosts an... More

If you have out of town visitors and looking for something to do, take them to the Schiele Museum. And if you go on Wednesdays, admission is free.

The ShieldMuseum has undergone an expansion and if you have kids or grandkids a trip there will amaze them and allow them to see things that they can only read about.

We go quite often with our three children and its fun just wish the exhibits changed more often. It is a little pricey with a family of 5 but we thought about the season passes..

Being from NYC, I have been spoiled by the areas museums. I was not expecting much from our visit here, but I was WRONG. There were a lot of neat exhibits, both indoors and out. I learned a a few things myself, while I explored with my son. We spent about 3hrs here, and could have easily spent more. The... More

I have visited this museum a few times in my life and it is exactly the same each time I have visited. It is pretty cool as a kid to see all the different animal habitats and things but as an adult it is rather mundane. The only exception to this is when they had gem mining, which was a... More

Wanted to do something special with the grandchildren on their last day of vacation with us (boy, 8; two girls, 5 & 3); the Schiele was a good choice. Of course it helped that the temporary exhibit was about Tony's Ice Cream, a Gastonia, NC institute that is now 100 years old. The granddaughters loved the "real but dead" animals... More
