Compared to Nags Head where we stayed last year (which was also beautiful and not heavily trafficked), this beach is one of the finest I've experienced. Gorgeous sand, shelling and surf. You can't beat it! Frisco very laid back and not tourist-laden like the northern OBX. We will be back!

Soft sand, nicely kept beach. Far from the crowds, which is what we wanted. Ocean water was so clear I could see to the bottom for the first ten feet out. Watch your step, however, as the ocean floor is very uneven. A lovely place to stay with stores and amenities nearby.

We have vacationed for many years in Frisco, and the beach is a great place to relax, get some sun, and enjoy the ocean. People respect one another, there is no blasting audio, no raucous partying, and it is thong-free zone. Since fireworks were banned (hooray!) the beaches have also been much cleaner.

Great sand. Clean beach. Not overly crowded. Waves were a little too big for small kids but good for body surfing. Surf fishing is done there but it can be difficult with the waves and people during the summer.

It takes awhile to get here but it was worth the drive! Not real crowded. Very pleasant. Afternoon rains cut our visit short but really enjoyed it. The showers/changing area were nothing special - pretty typical of beaches I've seen.

Great sand. The kids swam and boogie boarded. The beach was not crowed and had room for everyone. Beautiful ocean, beach, and views. We would definatly return.

Unlike some of the other beaches on the Outer Banks, the beach at Frisco seemed more calm and safe. The shoreline is just as beautiful as the other beaches, but the water and waves were more gentle. I would have no problem wading into these waters. The added plus is that there are restrooms and showers nearby. Very, very nice... More

Such a beautiful place. We were alone with the exception of a few people on horseback in the distance. Water is warmer on the SE facing beaches below Hatteras. Angle of the waves make less ideal than the east facing beaches for body surfing in most weather conditions, but if I had kids with me, this is the perfect place... More

The waves and wind were a bit rough here, but the beach was gorgeous and clean. It was very quiet and we didn't encounter very many other people, but the ones we did were all very friendly. We saw some surfing and body boarding, a lot of kiteboarding. Our group swam, built sandcastles and flew kites. We also had a... More
