they are not honest about showing the 1/8" long size gems you will get..They show you rubies encrusted in big rocks...sorry nobody there that day found anything bigger than 30c size while we were there...and I am not sure if they used natural buckets or "salted" with stones not from the site.

This was a lone way from the Travel Channel. Seriously, the guy running the show at this mine really wants you to find stuff. Even if it kills you both. The native ore at this mine has a lot of matrix and clay on it. You have to SCRUB HARD several times to break it free to see what you... More

The staff is hilarious! And they made our experience all the better. We were greeted by a very informational course to begin our gem mining experience. The staff was on hand in store and at the flume to assist us with using the screens and identifying stones as well as constant humor. I loved it! This is a great place... More

We were really excited to go here as we'd heard such glowing remarks....but it was an average experience. It was definitely the most crowded of any of the mines we visited, and had a lot of staff helping on the sluiceway to identify gems (or rocks) but we didn't enjoy the experience as much as some of the other smaller... there is nothing to dislike about ths mine, native buckets and salted buckets, well worth the money and some great gems to find, and staff great help for new comers , and pros ... probably the best mine we went too ... and will be back ... found a 16k ruby so was well stoked ..

We have visited this mine several times in the past years. The people are always helpful and nice. They checked thru our washed stones as we cleaned the mud off the stones. I found a 20 caret ruby in a matrix that the person in the office guessed would clean up to about 12 carets. An other person on site... More

The best part of this place is the instructions you get for a first timer. Noah seemed disinterested in what he was doing and the roads up to it stink, one car wide. Saw on travel channel so we tried it. Got nothing in the native or rainbow buckets worth anything. Never again.

This was our second visit to the mine and once again we enjoyed our time there. Our younger child was able to find enough "gems" to keep his attention for a while. The staff interacted with him and helped keep him occupied after he lost interest. Our teenage daughters were able to "mine" at their own pace without feeling any... More

We ended up here because other mines in the area were closed on Sunday. We had a 5,6,7, & 8 year old with us. The gentleman behind the counter started by telling my son, who was so excited he could hardly stand it, to settle down and not ask questions and wait for the rest of his party. Then half... More

We took our in laws and my 2.5 year old daughter here, as a last resort really because all the others were closed on Sunday. I wish we had just turned around. The owner is rude, the prices are stupid, there is a guy who hovers over you while you sift and acts like you are too stupid to figure... More
