The Barker House always has beautiful decorations at Christmas. During the weekend of the Christmas Candlelight Tour, you get your tickets there and they serve real alcoholic Eggnog and other treats. The views from the home are beautiful.

Barker House is right on the water and sitting on the porch is a must. Interesting history--ask about the recent renovations. Rotating exhibits on the upper floor and a good gift shop. Free parking adjacent. Open on Sunday.

Our friend who lives in Edenton gave us a great recommendation of the Barker House. We drove there and park for free. We first walked on the pier and look at the lighthouse and soaked in the nice cool breeze. Then took the tour by a volunteer hostess and it was nice to go on every room and we could... More

The Barker House is lovely and has a good size parking lot. It is free to park here and start your tour of Edenton. We went inside and had a nice introduction to the town by a volunteer hostess. She first told us about the house after which we were free to wander around on our own. She also gave... More

We had only a few hours in town, but parked at the Barker House and did some exploring. Really enjoyed our time here!

This is a very nice place to visit in Edenton. An older historical home, well preserved, that also serves as a gift shop. Knowledgeable volunteers can tell you the history of the place and other facts about Edenton. It is rather scenic as it sits by the water with excellent views all around. If you want to see other parts... More

The volunteers were helpful and well informed about the area. The porch was comfortable to rock and enjoy the view.

Looked at new books available on History of the area. Enjoyed just sitting in old rockers on the cool porch looking out on Edenton Bay on a hot June day. The Barker House provided all the information we needed for our sight-seeing tours of the town.

This is a restored home that has been moved to the waterfront. It serves a visitors center, trolley start point and trolley ticket sales, an excellent educational gift shop with many local books full of Edenton history and architecture.

Period antiques, history of the town and the house, overlooking the Albemarle Sound. The volunteers who work there are very knowledgeable about the history of the house and the history of Edenton.
