This house is beautiful and to hear of how it was almost lost and the effort put forth by the citizens to save it is amazing. This is a must see for history buffs.

A nicely restored historic home with extensive gardens, included on the walking tour. Cannot go up into the cupola.

We visited while on a walking tour. Our guide seemed a bit bored as this was the last tour of the day and one of the last stops. Unfortunately you can not visit the actual cupola, as the guide said it was unsafe. That would have been the highlight of the tour. Perhaps they will renovate that next?

This home was restored by locals. No State funds. They did a great job. Hours are limited. Check when you make your plans.

The Cupola House has beautiful decorations at Christmas. During the weekend of the Christmas Candlelight Tour, the Cupola House is open and serves hot cider & wassail along with other treats.

A worthwhile historic stop in Edenton. The house tour is by donation--and they suggest $5 a person. That seems reasonable. The famed cupola was closed, but the rest of the house and gardens were interesting.

Very interesting to visit this historic home, especially to see the replicated rich work work throughout the home.

It was interesting to hear how this lovely house built in 1758 was restored after falling into such decline. Gardens were restored, also. House is currently furnished with period pieces and reproductions. The beautiful mahogany staircase is worth a long look. Buy your tickets at the Visitor Center for the walking tour. This house is on the tour. Don't miss... More

Step back in time with the help of the volunteers who explain the history of the house in the setting got a formal garden.
