Love the Carolina Theater comedy shows -- I've been to two of these shows so far (Aziz and Nerdist) and they were fantastic. My only issue is the parking -- get there EARLY, and avoid the parking deck directly across from the entrance (sort of on the side actually). Traffic will wrap around and up side streets. Lines to get... More

We were lucky enough to catch a fantastic concert with Marc Cohn on a recent evening. What a magnificent old theater that has been beautifully maintained. Great sound and nice seating to be able to see everything made for a very intimate concert experience. The staff was very welcoming and friendly as if they were inviting us into their living... More

Had a chance to see a show here last weekend. Loved the theater. We had balcony seats and found the view of the stage good. The acoustics were good as well. The staff was helpful. Plenty of restrooms and very clean which is great!. I love the fact that they have great parking options which were reasonable. We parked on... More

I enjoy attending old Theatre Houses that have been restored and remain as both film and live performance venues. The Carolina Theater in Durham, NC offers both. They have outstanding film series and authentic musical performances. Ticket prices are reasonable and seating is comfortable. Upper balcony seating is remote; if you desire a more intimate experience, purchase tickets early for... More

An old time theatre movie house that has had nine lives and going strong. We saw a Gilbert and Sullivan show which was a delight. They have everything: shows, music, movies. We got last minute tickets and were in the back of the orchestra where the balcony overhang was rather low and prevented the seats from being tiered. So the... More

We attended a Durham Symphony concert at the Carolina Theater. Seated in the first row of the balcony, we experienced excellent sights and sounds. The Theater is in very good shape for its age.

this theater is a fabulous small concert venue, the views and acoustics are great. the concession stand is hard to beat. unfortunately, the walls are showing signs of water damage and the city is not rushing to save this treasure. parking is right across the street and you can have dinner at rue cler before or after a performance to...
