Visitors need to be willing to read the text of the displays and listen to the audio tour to make this place worth the visit. Nice photo opportunities on the lawn and bridge. Has a public pier you can fish and crab off of. More

We've been coming to the Outer Banks for a few years now, Wine Wednesdays in the summer specifically. When my fiance propsed, there was no question where I wanted to have my special day. Kerri, with The Whalehead Club Celebrations has been a dream to work with, and we are really looking forward to making this a part of our... More

Loved all the attention to detail that has gone into the house. The furnishings are a work in progress but I would rather enjoy authentic pieces than have things rushed to please the masses. Staff was super friendly and helpful. I will be sure to return for a more in depth visit. More

This is a neat historic house with interesting architectural stylings and many different rooms. It is on a lovely man-made island facing a very scenic view of water. Unlike some other historic home tours, it was not dripping with soft accessories like curtains, pillows, rugs, historical clothing, portraits, dishes, furniture, or hobby relics - though brief examples of all of... I made our 2 teenagers go with us. They ended up liking the tour. We did the self guided tour and the 16 year olds liked that a lot more than if someone was touring us. Great stories. Too bad they don't have more things from the original family. The Tiffany lighting and the woodwork was beautiful. More

An architectural gem in an unexpected setting. Beautiful. And it is located in an area that has a lighthouse to climb, water to walk along, a couple of shops and the Wild Horse Museum--all within walking distance. And clean bathrooms, too! :) More

The Maison is awesome! Take a tour. It's all about the history of Corolla but the grounds are also a great experience. You can go crabbing w/the kids. More
