So beautiful. You can drive down the beach and hang out all day without a noisy boardwalk and thousands of people. The horses are an added bonus. I would not suggest a small light all wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle. If you've never driven in sand, you don't need to try it out in a vehicle like that....

The beaches are very nice except the lifeguards. The surf was high this week so the beaches were red flagged. Understandable but when the lifeguards wont even let you go in shin deep now thats crazy. what is the point of going to a beach when you cant even get wet let alone swim. Id say good place to see...

Today we decided to go to the beach in Currituck County to see the horses. To our surprise the beaches looked really dirty. The surf was yellow and brown with foam standing up 6 - 8 inches high like soap detergent found in your home washer. It was disgusting! Don't think this was natural, no matter how much wind there...

watching the wild horse walk the surf........dolphins come swimming by to say hello.......being able to drive along the beach and sticking your feet in the white powdery sand will make us go back to corrolla over and over again.........there are many wonderful shopping opportunities ...dining options in the area as well.......take a picnic with you as you will want to...
