It is the ONLY municipally owned golf course to be rated in the North Carolina Top 100, and one of only 6 public courses in the state to make the top 100. Managed by the Embassy Suites, Concord Golf Resort and Spa, it is one of the only courses in the Charlotte area to offer stay and play packages with such a fantastic hotel affiliate. It is a beautiful and challenging course that is kept in great condition year round. « less

Located next to the Embassy Suites where we stayed. Great looking course that is challenging but not punishing. Can play 18 or just nine in the afternoon. Well staffed and well maintained. Great value. You will feel like you have been released into the beautiful North Carolina countryside. Flowers, ponds and the songs of birds--what else do you need to... More

Purchased coupons online and they pulled the old bait and switch scheme. When we got there, we ended up paying $30 more to play. And we were not the only ones. There were others who fell for the same scheme. My suggestion would be not to purchase coupons online to play this course. We purchased through clickit and still had... More

It had been a couple of years since I had played regularly and I had lost my swing. While in Concord visiting relatives I took some golf lessons from Ryan Brickley. He didn't drastically try to change my swing and didn't make the changes too complicated. After the third lesson I was able to hit the ball consistently with all... More

Just came back from Charlotte a couple of weeks ago and despite being February the course was a real treat to play. Friendly staff and I played with another single from the tips. Course is challenging yet straight forward. Fairways were in their normal winter, dormant, brown state, but the course was still in great shape. Greens were quicker than... More

Went on a golf trip with some friends and played several courses in the Charlotte area. We all agreed Rocky River was the highlight. Great food and drinks in the clubhouse after our round. If you order the wicked buffalo wrap be prepared, it is good but wicked hot! Looking forward to next year!

We chose this place because it was at a convienent location for both of us. Would not go back. Could be nice, well designed, but upkeep is poor. Greens were so bad, we quit trying to putt and just picked our balls up. Everything had a "shabby feel". Pro shop, snack bar seemed like someplace from the 70's...except the price,... More

The summer months are particularly hard on Bentgrass greens, and ours are no exception. In early September, they are not at their best after the peak of the heat and stress. We are converting to new greens next June, and Bermudagrass which will be much more heat tolerant, resulting a a greatly improved surface during the heat of the summer.... More
