It is the ONLY municipally owned golf course to be rated in the North Carolina Top 100, and one of only 6 public courses in the state to make the top 100. Managed by the Embassy Suites, Concord Golf Resort and Spa, it is one of the only courses in the Charlotte area to offer stay and play packages with such a fantastic hotel affiliate. It is a beautiful and challenging course that is kept in great condition year round. « less

Played today (3/11/14). Paid $39 (reasonable rate on Clickit.com). Nice clubhouse with bar and grill staffed by friendly employees. Course is located directly behind dragstrip practically in the shadows of Charlotte Motor Speedway. Good fast greens. Has practice facility but you must hit from carpet mats. Over priced food and beverage. For example bottle of water was $3.50. Golfer's lunch... More

Thanks for the review. We make every effort to provide a friendly staff and excellent experience for our guests. It sounds like you enjoyed the course. I understand not wanting to hit from mats. The grass teeing area on the range will be opening within the next 2 weeks, but we limit range use to the mats during the winter... More

Best course condition public course in town!! The course was in perfect shape from tee to green and every where in between! The tee boxes are level, fairways and fringe grass was very tightly mowed and bunkers were in great condition! The greens are Mini Verde they rolled very true and fast (probably a 9 on Stimp) The green complexes... More

Thanks for the great comments! We have been very pleased with the results of our new greens. Our goal is to provide a great experience for all our guests, and to make the Embassy Suites Golf Resort and Rocky River Golf Club the best resort offering in the entire Charlotte/Concord area. Rocky River was probably in the best condition it has been in some time. Lush fairways, and very smooth greens. The layout has always been one of the best around. Even though it is jammed between Z-Max Dragway and the over-developed Concord Mills, Charlotte Motor Speedway complex, only a little traffic noise will impact the experience. The course features gently... More

Located next to the Embassy Suites where we stayed. Great looking course that is challenging but not punishing. Can play 18 or just nine in the afternoon. Well staffed and well maintained. Great value. You will feel like you have been released into the beautiful North Carolina countryside. Flowers, ponds and the songs of birds--what else do you need to... More

Purchased coupons online and they pulled the old bait and switch scheme. When we got there, we ended up paying $30 more to play. And we were not the only ones. There were others who fell for the same scheme. My suggestion would be not to purchase coupons online to play this course. We purchased through clickit and still had... More

It had been a couple of years since I had played regularly and I had lost my swing. While in Concord visiting relatives I took some golf lessons from Ryan Brickley. He didn't drastically try to change my swing and didn't make the changes too complicated. After the third lesson I was able to hit the ball consistently with all... More

Just came back from Charlotte a couple of weeks ago and despite being February the course was a real treat to play. Friendly staff and I played with another single from the tips. Course is challenging yet straight forward. Fairways were in their normal winter, dormant, brown state, but the course was still in great shape. Greens were quicker than... More

Went on a golf trip with some friends and played several courses in the Charlotte area. We all agreed Rocky River was the highlight. Great food and drinks in the clubhouse after our round. If you order the wicked buffalo wrap be prepared, it is good but wicked hot! Looking forward to next year!
