I thought Chimney rock park was great. Another reviewer complained that it wasn't too difficult of a hike but I thought it was a lot of fun . It is a great place for the whole family and I thought it was a good place to spend the day with my Mom. She is in her 60's and the hike... more

I had geared up for a cool day hike at Chimney Rock. However, I was done hiking every trail they had in 2 hours. Not to mention, the best trails where closed. The views where nice, and if you aren't a "hiker" looking for adventure, then this may be the place, but I was extremely disappointed. I have hiked most... more

We visited Chimney Rock in October 2008 and had a very nice visit. This is a private park with expensive entrance fees ($14) but they do provide fantastic views and a good afternoon out. I agree this is not the destination for someone looking for backwoods solitary nature hikes - but I would think serious hikers would have figured that... more

Chimney Rock Park offers a variety of activities for visitors. The hiking trails provide different levels of difficulty for your needs/wants. The "big" hike takes you to the top of the mountain. There are many, many stairs you climb to reach the top, however, the view alone is worth the climb. If stairs sound unusual to you, you will realize... more

Took a day trip to the park from Asheville. Had a wonderful time. do your best to hike to the bottom of the waterfall. And take the elevetor and then short stair case to the top of Chimney Rock. The small town of Chimney Rock is fun as well. They have one of the best putt-putt courses we have every... more

If your legs can withstand the many, many somewhat rickety stairs it is worth a visit to climb all the way to exclaimation point. Chimney Rock Park is where many scenes from Last of the Mohicans were filmed. The trails are more than you could ask for as far as construction-for-safety goes, and the scenery and physical endurance are breath-taking. more

Yes, the drive is a bit twisty and the climb could be strenuous for the out of shape but... do it !! Definitely worth the effort. We made the visit in mid-March when the crowds are few and the weather was perfect – sunny, no wind, and cool enough for the many stairs encountered. Unfortunately, the upper trails were closed... more

We stayed in a hotel that was about a half hour drive to the park. The road was very curvy, but once we got to the top, the view was absolutely gorgeous. Would definitely go to again. more
