We enjoyed going up Chimney Rock. The views are spectacular and we had a lot of fun going down the trails. We went in June. It was really neat to see so much of the area from atop the mountain. This park is absolutely fantastic. The views are breathtaking and awe inspiring. It is easily accessable by elevator and the steps leading to the chimney are safe, and easy to climb. Any difficulty is well worth the effort when you look out over the 75 mile view. Words are hard to find to describe the view. I reccommend you go... more

Chimney rock park is a great place to go. You can even bring your dogs but you'll have to climb all the way to the top and back down because dogs are not allowed in the elevator. It has beautiful views of Lake Lure. Make sure you make time to spend the day there because they have great hiking trails.... more
