My favorite park

Number one on my list of things to do when we go to Cherokee is a picnic here. So relaxing! We love the geese that are really friendly.

Nice stroll along the river and see lots of ducks and geese. Cool bamboo forest. Picnic and skip rocks. There are some little speakers where you can push a button and learn about particular trees and that was interesting. Just a nice free peaceful place to spend a hour or so. Cherokee is beautiful.

Enjoyed visiting the park for an after dinner walk. Fascinated by the bamboo forest area, and the kids enjoyed walking the bridge and watching the birds.

Eating along the river was pretty nice, listening to the water. I'd give the park a higher rating, but the island part didn't allow dogs, meaning we had to stay off the island and eat in the park by the road. Loved the bridge and the walk by the river.

This downtown river park is so very inviting, pretty and relaxing. There are bridges to cross and stone steps leading to the water's edge. There's enough current to make a lovely sound, but it's shallow enough for wading. On this mild, early spring day, there were several fisherman and a few families, human and duck, using the river. There's a... More

This time of year when it is cold I enjoy watching the ducks swim around.. A nice place to visit all year round.. When it is warm a nice place to picnic and sit and watch the water and the ducks with their baby ducks. Watching families float around on tubes wish I could do that. Watching people fish.. A... As a local, I like to save my old bread for the ducks and geese. We often grab a burger from Hardee's and park here to eat and feed to ducks. This area is booming in the warm weather because it's a great FREE place for families to go wade into the water and cool down from the humid summer... More

We stopped here on the way out of Cherokee and it is absolutely beautiful here! We walked through the river cane forest and were all in awe of how tall they are! Very pretty place with lots of room to picnic, run around, or whatever.
