If you aren't into souvenir shopping, this is a great place to hang out for awhile. Families with young children will especially enjoy it because its a great place for wading. Water shoes are helpful for walking on the stones but not a necessity. There is a bathroom changing area at one end.

This is a nice place to take a stroll by or in the water and cool off when you don't have time to travel out into the parks. It's close to shopping and restaurants so groups could easily split up and meet there later. It was clean and shady and quiet.

Want a free fun time, go here. Bring your own float and enjoy the Oconaluftee (or the "Luftee" as locals call it) River. I saw kid, old folks, fishermen, sunbathers, floaters, you name it. Great place to visit, and you can't beat the price.

My kids had lots of fun playing in the river, also there were a lot ducks which was really nice to see. Overall, it's a nice park to go and relax while the kids play in the water

Love the family orientation, would not go in the area and swim where lots of geese are. People should not bring your dog(signs posted) but still do. Bamboo forest is amazing. We saw a mama duck with 8 babies so cool!

This is a very beautiful area with shallow running water. In some parts ducks can be seen in the water right near the many children playing in cool clear water. There are both shady and sunny areas and picnic tables too.

We brought a packed picnic for after we went tubing and this was a fantastic park to stop at. There were many picnic tables available. My kids had a really great time playing in the streams with tons of rocks. Lovely place to spend an afternoon!

A wonderful place to have a picnic and let your kids/dogs/you go wading in the cold mountain stream. So relaxing!

Excellent for a bit of fun in between attractions. Picnic tables, cool water to relax next to (or in if it is a hot day), and little ducks all over the place. This is a nice park.

Nice park on some nights they have a bonfire with story telling about the Cherokee Culture and folklore too. Really nice ending to a day. They even let the kids roast marshmallows .Sonny does a great job with this program, usually is from like 7-9 pm I think during the summer. The creek and park are also nice.
