I'm old, but I received an invitation to a young adult's birthday celebration at USNWC. There was stuff to do for folks of all ages, but I had an absolute blast in my 1st whitewater rafting experience. I want to raft the Colorado now.

I have been to the National Whitewater Center many times and believe it to be a hidden treasure in the Charlotte area. Be aware, this is not an amusement park in the traditional sense. This is an outdoor adventure park with varied activities, most of which take a little courage and can be physically challenging. Activities include, whitewater rafting and... More

There is more to do here that you might expect. Food, beer (numerous craft beers), kayaking, canoeing, white water rafting, mountain bikes, walking, zipline, rock climbing, live music! What more could you ask for? Get a pass and come back every Thursday evening during the summer and enjoy live music. Don't miss the special weekend events with fireworks. Fun for... More

My company booked a day-long outing at the Center - meeting room, catered meals, and adventure passes. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable and not at all forceful, if anyone didn't want to participate in any of the activities. Not being athletic or outdoorsy, I declined - no whitewater rafting, rock climbing or zip-lining for me - but everyone who did... More

My friends spent a day there. We ate and they went on the zip line and enjoyed it.I am mobility challenged and they have nothing for me. Grounds keepers roam on golf carts and I have been to employees about how they could at LEAST have some sort of golf cart so we could see the place. I think, if... More

Great place to do other things besides kayaking. There are hiking and biking trails. A good restaurant with outside seating to watch all the action. A pretty tame zip line, but still fun to watch. Dog friendly and music in the summers... Very relaxing.

WWC has something for all not just rafting. I like to walk the trails around the lakes, just make sure to walk against the mountain bike traffic. In warm weather the kayaking and boarding are great. Restaurant has views of rafting and the food choices are limited but good. Also great beer selection and wine. Plus, WWC has some wonderful... More

Located just outside of Charlotte's outter belt, the location is easily found. We weren't planning on stopping and having our two large dogs with us - we didn't raft. However, there is a walking trail that follows the man made river. We simply sat in the grass with our dogs and enjoyed watching each group of rafters go by. So... More
