A dive with great live music and cheap beer

I went to the Double Door Inn as a teenager in the 1970's. It was a dive then and it's still a dive but it has always hosted the best music schedule to be found anywhere, from the... read more

I went to the Double Door Inn as a teenager in the 1970's. It was a dive then and it's still a dive but it has always hosted the best music schedule to be found anywhere, from the cutting edge of new music to the legends. It's a multi-genre bar, the only criteria being that the acts can more than... More

Awesome experience ...great music, friendly people and good drinks, kept our feet moving. Loved the school type desk seating. Great singers and musicians from various bands all for a $5 cover. Definitely going back when in Charlotte ... Good location near college campus. Diverse clientele ...nothing bad to say ...check it out! One of the biggest hits of our trip!

As one of Charlotte's oldest bars, this one comes complete with low ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and dim lights. Just what you would expect from a cozy Blues bar reminiscent of the basement bars in Chicago. The drinks are reasonable and so are the cover charges if there are any depending on the talent.

Cozy atmosphere with wonderful entertainment. They offer a variety of bands each week and showcase local talent. Stand or sit, it's up to you.

I used to go there quite frequently and saw some great acts perform. I would generally sit at the bar and always had a fantastic time. But ever since the bartender George left service has gone down the toilet. So I stopped going!

This is one of the best places in the Charlotte area to get your fix for live music. The place is always alive with music. It can get cramped when a good band is placing but the vibe is wonderful. Food is not as good as the bands, but I don't go for the food, I go for the music.

The Double Door has the best live music around, still small and friendly, hosting today's greatest musicians - just last week with Tab Benoit and his crazy wild blues! One of the oldest blues bars in the country, worth the trip for the pics on the wall alone.

The jazz was brilliant with Bill and his band leading most numbers but inviiting audience members up to join in either playing along or on vocals. The audience gets to be up close to the music. Drinks are available from the bar but eat dinner before you go. Three set every Tuesday night and the show starts at 7pm. If... More
