this was our second visit to Scarowinds .. we found this trip more enjoyable .. we arrived at the parking an hour before it reopened for the night attraction and had no issues getting parking .. some of our group sat in traffic for over 30 minutes, they were planning on arriving at opening (7p) .. get some food and... Carowinds is almost identical to Kings Dominion in Richmond, VA. The park is smaller than some other theme parks, but there is a lot to offer. There are plenty of extreme rides and also plenty of rides for small children. The one thing the park lacks is "other attractions". There are not as many shows as I would like. And... More

My family of four had a blast at SCarowinds this year! Unlike many Halloween attractions that only allow you to go through a prescribed set of theme areas for about 45 minutes, SCarowinds gives you several hours of this AND amusement park time for your dollar. This is a great time of year to visit the park - if you... More

Carowinds Before Cedar Fair: dirty, carny style park(with swarmy water park) pumping hip hop music with few attractions meriting the $65 day ticket. Carowinds After Cedar Fair: New rides, improved staff, pleasant, unoffensive environment/music, disinfected water park, plans for expansion, worth the $65 day ticket but a VALUE when season pass purchased.

We have always looked forward to Carowinds, since we were kids. It was only an hour drive from home. Now that we're adults, we still make time to go! This place is expensive, so you have to definitely plan for it. I don't know how I could afford it if we had children. They have many roller coaster experiences -... More

Very expensive - I think the entrance price is much to expensive for what is offered. We make the 5 hour drive to Six Flags Atlanta instead. They have some great rollercoasters and are getting another super one in Spring 2015. The waterpark area is huge and very clean. Great areas and rides for small children.

I live within 5 miles of this park and I can see the rollercoasters from my office window. This park is a lot of fun, and what I love about it is that you have access to all the rides plus the water park!! A great family fun day!

Great amusement park for families with young kids and teens. Great roller coasters for thrill seekers, but there are plenty of rides, games and attractions for the little ones too. A bit pricey, as most theme parks are, so if you're cost conscious, plan on packing a lunch and water bottle in your backpack. When the weather is warm is... More

Been many times and each time my wallet is emptied! Between entrance tickets and food plan on an easy $300-400 for family of four. It's just over hyped amusement oark
