If you can afford it, Carowinds can be a fun family day for all ages, from small children to adults. BUT it is expensive. To save some money, take lunch with you and eat at your vehicle in the parking lot. Try to buy admission tickets in advance wherever discounts are given, like Harris Teeter.

I have been to Carowinds several times over the last six years. Have purchased season tickets for my children as they find it a fun and safe place to go over the summer. Carowinds has a good selection of rides to enjoy. As my children are late teens, I can only comment on the adult rides and water park. The... More

Carowinds is less than 2 hours from our house, however we will not return. There are some serious time management issues that need to be addressed in the park to ensure customers have a better experience. For example, if the park is crowded run both cars available on all roller coasters. Also, employees should be trained to work more efficiently.... More

Purchased tickets for park and fast lane online. There are 2 versions of fast lane now. The regular version lets you ride every ride EXCEPT Intimidator and Nighthawk, the two most popular rides. To use this expensive pass on those rides they charge you $15 extra ontop of the $45-$55 you may have already shelled out on top of your... More

This place has such great potential but it is so poorly run. Whoever is in charge needs to be fired. Operations is as poorly run as possible. Very poor attitudes and poor service with 90% of staff. The basketball 3 point staff was the exception. They were fantastic. I was in line for 50 minutes to get an average, mediocre... More

Carowinds is a really fun amusement park. I went with my girlfriend and we had a blast. The lines are not too long and there are plenty of roller coasters and thrill rides. The roller coasters are all slightly different too so there is variety to choose from. The Afterburn was my favorite roller coaster (feet dangling). The Intimidator was... More

Carowinds is a wonderful amusement/theme park, nestled on the North Carolina/South Carolina border, just south of Charlotte. There is something there to do for all ages, including amusement park attractions, water park, rides, shows, etc. Word of warning though.....week-ends and summertime can be very crowded, so get to the park early to be able to enjoy the day!

Well. Had a disappointing experience here. I thought the admission fee was expensive since I am not a ride person , just wanted admission to accompany my grandchildren. No food or beverage is allowed and bags are searched? They must think they were Disney. Prices for food was high, also refreshments. Walking around are all kinds of games, example. Ballon... More

You get 2 parks for the price of 1. Water park and an amusement park. There are rides for smaller kids also. Compared to a few of the other parks this one allows you to leave for the day and return as long as ur hand is stamped, without paying more. The best time to go is through the week... More
