ImaginON is a great place for kids of all ages. They have a wonderful area for toddlers, preschoolers and elementary kids that features toys, blocks, a wii station, and tons of books. The library also has a teen area that had a life size chess board, life size connect the dots game, dozens of computers and more. There are also... More

My daughter loved this place. It was a place where her imagination could run wild. Unfortunately since it was free, it brought alot of scallywags in the place.

This is such a fun place. The fairytale exhibit is amazing. The kids played in it for about an hour or longer. Then upstairs there are fun toys and educational computer games to do. The library itself is full of books, toys, and computer games too. The outside of the library looks really cool- a great place to take pics.... More

Need a break or something for the kids to do, this really is a library that kids love. It's fun just to go in and explore the layout. It's so quirky and fun. They've got separate areas for young kids and teens. And if you go at the right time, you can even pay a fee to see performances of... More

I liked this place a lot. It is free and you can validate your parking card and park for free 2min away from the place. It has a huge library of kids’ books, some toys (for younger kids), computers and several ‘playgrounds’. It is easy to spend here 2-3 hours with your kids and it is especially appealing when it... Great place to visit with young children. There are a lot of interactive displays and things to keep them occupied. There is a book section that has lots of seating if you actually want to read. They have a theatre and iPad stations. You could spend hours here. cheers

I live in the county and this library is well worth the trip. I have a little boy who loves the kids area for checking out books. My teenagers love it because I am not allowed in their section. It's location uptown is great. Free parking if you visit up to an hour or so. Just need to validate it... More

Not only is this the children's library in Charlotte, NC, there are plenty of areas for children to learn. With traveling exhibits and creative hands-on stations. A perfect place for pre-schoolers to teens. Under the same roof is the Children's Theatre of Charlotte with awesome performances. Check out ImaginOn!

The hands-on displays that change periodically were my daughter's favorite part of going to ImaginOn. Usually, we'd arrive early for a show at the Children's Theater so she'd have time to play before the show...and I usually got talked into staying a bit after the show so she could repeat her favorite activities. One summer, my daughter attended summer camp... More
