Not only is this the children's library in Charlotte, NC, there are plenty of areas for children to learn. With traveling exhibits and creative hands-on stations. A perfect place for pre-schoolers to teens. Under the same roof is the Children's Theatre of Charlotte with awesome performances. Check out ImaginOn!

The hands-on displays that change periodically were my daughter's favorite part of going to ImaginOn. Usually, we'd arrive early for a show at the Children's Theater so she'd have time to play before the show...and I usually got talked into staying a bit after the show so she could repeat her favorite activities. One summer, my daughter attended summer camp... More

Oh, did I say free with free parking! (we made a mistake on the free parking) I could not believe this was free in downtown…If I lived in charlotte I would take my kids here for reading and playtime….Good for a quick visit when you come to town.

We come here quite a bit with our three year old, both for story times and for plays at Charlotte Childrens Theatre. Not a TON to do, but enough to keep them occupied for a while.

I love ImaginOn. Excellent spot for kids. It's basically a library for kids and teenagers and also a theater. The library caters to the children they offer plays, summer reading contests, quite reading nook areas. Located in Charlotte's city center just off the rail line. Once experienced, it is usually a place kids like to go to again!

ImaginOn is a great place to take young kids who delight in just seeing new things. They have a variety of entertaining items inside - a mock trolley, a large road carpet with large trucks, a felt board, oodles of iPad games, and a great selection of books for infants on up. We took my 1.5 year old nephew here... More

Imaginon is a great children's library. I like that they have separate floors for the little kids and pre-teens. The best part of Imaginon is that they are such a resource for the community beyond the books. They offer a variety of programs including story time, arts and crafts, college prep seminars, free wi-fi...all sorts of programs. You can also... More

It's name says it all. Fabulous for kids and adults who appreciate imagination and artistic discovery. A must visit.

I took my 1 year old daughter here and she absolutely loved it. Imaginon was really lovely and educational. She had a great time, but not over stimulation like some kid attractions may do. There were tons of books and interesting manipulative toys for her to enjoy. I highly recommend. And the best part is...it was free! And it is... More

What an amazing children's library! We brought our 3 & 5 yr olds here on a Saturday morning and they had a blast. Excellent story time with one of the librarians; a musical "petting zoo" with lots of great instruments brought in by symphony members; and a fun exhibit of Arthur's World. A great morning of fun...absolutely FREE!
