We love going here. The walks are fun and easy for young un's. The play park is just right and rarely has it been busy whilst we've been there. Nice and quiet down by the lake and just peaceful place to chill out. Nature centre is good on a rainy day

This place is wonderful. Open areas for plenty of group games. Large grills and covered shelters. Lots of parking space and electrical outlets. Nearby restrooms and countless walking trails.

Stopped here to throw a line into Lake Wylie and see if I could catch a fish or two which I did. Park was clean and restroom was well maintained. It was no crowded when I was there and I saw only 3 other people walking around on the trails. There are not a lot of good bank fishing spots... More

This is one of my favorite places to get out in nature and go for a short hike. There are many trails and you can create a walk that fits your time and desired exertion level. Great place for family outings or just yourself.

The place is awesome, but be ready to pay if you are not from the Charlotte area. Over priced for general camping. It was 28 dollars and I could have found the same type of spot for half the price. Time was not on my side so I paid the price.

There are so many good things about McDowell nature preserve. There is a little playground for kids, several walking trails. The park is on lake Wylie. There are shelters for rent for parties or whatever. They also have bbq's near the water. You can go camping at the campground. It's a nice place to go with the family.

Have been going here for over 20 years. AWESOME place! Especially in the Fall of the year. Outstanding walking and hiking trails. Plenty of places for a picnic and multitudes of places to fish. Adjacent is Copperhead boat ramp which is the best boat ramp on Lake Wylie. No wake zone ensures a smooth launch and load. Highly recommend. Best... More

Quiet with fun trails and a wonderful place to picnic. Views of the lake are spectacular. Only disappointment was the nature exhibit. Very small.
