Great place to enjoy nature

Great hiking, bird watching and just being outdoors. It is a great place to bring family. Easy to get to. Directional signs were awesome.

We always enjoy coming here and just sitting around the lake. If you're looking to do a picnic lunch, this is a great place to go! Can't wait to walk the trails next time!

Great park with great programs. Hiking trails are nice and around lake Wylie. We have also camped here.

Walked about five miles of trails in this park our second day in town. Great place to walk and enjoy some nature, close and the trails are well marked and laid out. Worth the visit and a few hours.

Located on the shores of Lake Wylie, the nature center is really more of a park. The picnic areas are very nice and the park is clean. You have a little bit of lake front to hike, but most of the paths are through the woods. It's not teaming with wildlife, but the trees are lovely. It can be noisy... More

Beautiful preserve with nature center and trails for hiking. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a dock for fishing from Lake Wylie. I'm told there was bream and bass in the lake. I enjoyed walking one of the trails along the coast with my pet pooch. The only downside was the lack of proper signage so you... More

Great spot for fishing. Has a dock, rental kayaks and canoes, a boardwalk and loads of trails. Parking is kind of limited down by the water. They do have a campground on site. Beautiful place to take a picnic lunch and do some fishing with the kids. Dog friendly. Will be going back alot this summer.

We went to Charlotte and decided to camp at the McDowell nature center campground. Very clean, quiet, and the restrooms were very large and nice. It takes approx.. 30 min. to get to the downtown area from here so not too bad. Did not get to see any of the park as this was a quick trip but I would... More
