The Bechtler is a great addition to Charlotte and holds an impressive collection of modern art. The building is beautiful and located in a newly developed part of uptown, with other nearby museums. Easliy accessible with parking in adjacent garages.

We expected to see a lot more there, very spacious gallery on the 4th level, and a few other things on the 2nd level, but that's about it. That big space could fit a lot of interesting stuff.

Interesting to learn about the Bechtler family history in collecting art but don't expect to spend to long here as the collection is fairly small. That said they have some nice pieces.

Irecent visit says it all.I don't claim to understand all of the art being presented but appreciated the forms and color and was interesting in expanding my appreciation of different forms of art. I't worth the admission for a two hour visit next time your in downtown Charlotte- also try the mint museum across the street. Both are housed in... More

I"m not always a fan of modern art but this museum has some great pieces. I would recommend this as a place to visit for the modern art enthusiast. It has pieces for everyone to enjoy.

Went there yesterday and we saw the museum in 20 minutes. Although, they had some impressive works of art, but it was average at best.

This museum is an unexpected treasure trove of 20th century master-art, located in downtown Charlotte. The terra-cotta building design by architect Mario Botta is a visual treat by itself, but once inside the visitor will encounter works by artists that the average person would recognize: Picasso, Warhol, Miro, etc. The museum itself is small on the inside, but easily accessible,... I'm sorry, but while I can appreciate art, for the most part the modern art found at the Bechtler failed to inspire me. Also, very few pieces in spite of the large and beautiful building.

This very interesting building can be appreciated from th outside. The collection of Modern art from circa 1957 is narrow, with few pieces that appealed as truly spectacular or beautiful. Hopefully, someday this sPecial building next to The Mint will have an opportunity to downs the collation
