If you are from an older urban area and have seen many museums and are not an art junkie, there we many better ways to spend time in Charlotte. But it is a decent collection for a visit of an hour or two if you are nearby or the weather limits options More

This art museum isn't worth the time! There is nothing in the collection that is really worth seeing and the installation is poor and illogical. More

I love to pop into the Mint Museum on a quiet Sunday afternoon to explore the latest exhibits and stroll through some old favorites. (What woman doesn't love a visit to see the shoe and historic costume collection for an afternoon pick-me-up, right?) Somehow a shoe collection fits very well amid a sizable collection of Contemporary, American, and Native American... More

We haven't heard of the museum before, but saw it on a list or area attractions, and with limited time to spare, chose to go there (our hotel recommended the "original" Mint Museum, vs. the newer, uptown location). We liked the fact that much of the space was devoted to a couple of special collections with a constant them (the... More

Enjoyed the crafts and historic costume exhibits. Fabulous museum store...fell in love with some stained glass pieces. Parking in the adjoining deck is great for a rainy day...no need for coats or umbrellas to reach the entrance. Must return to Charlotte to see the main Mint location as well. More

Their are TWO Mint Museums in Charlotte, the Uptown which is modern, glossy and specializes in contemporary art, craft & design, American art, and special exhibits. It is seriously impressive as LARGE scale is part of this show. The other Mint, on Randolph Rd, is a totally different experience. Expect to see historic costumes, a large display of Ancient American... More

What a remarkable collection of art and other things to admire. One could spend a day there and not see it all. Try it sometime. More

One hour can be enough to visit this small but interesting museum. The break will be better with a lunch at the Alcyon restaurant. Good choice for visitors and good break for shoppers. More
