World class children's museum close to home.

We travel often and have visited children's museums all over the U.S. Discovery Place is one of the best we have seen. It is truly a treasure.

Discovery Place is a place to learn about science.. The entire family can make it a half day experience looking at all the exhibits. When you are done, there is a marvelous IMAX theater where you can see some awesome movies like you are really in the movie. What an experience to blast off in a rocket, or bicycle down... More

There is so much to do in this museum you can easily spend 4+ hours. I like that you can pack a lunch & bring food in as well as order at the cafe. I have 7 year old daughters (twins) and they LOVED this museum! Be sure to check out their site for special shows & events

A great interactive space for families & kids of all ages. Especially liked the demonstrations by the staff and the science-type of exhibits. Laying on a bed of nails was particularly popular! As with most interactive museums there were a few exhibits that did not work but considering the size of the facility it didn't impact our overall experience.

Discovery Place is awesome. Lots of fun/educational things for children to do/explore. It's fun for grown-ups, too. During the school year, you can run into large groups of school children.....can be over-whelming at times. But, summer or weekends or afternoons are great time for going. Expect to spend several hours at Discovery Place.

My 3 year old loved it here! We took her for her birthday and she really enjoyed it. It was VERY busy and packed on a Saturday, however it was still a lot of fun!! It has a little something for everyone! We will definitely be going back! Worth the price too!

We had an extra day in Charlotte and saw the flyer in our hotel. My daughters are 11 & 8 and had a blast. When we first entered, we thought there is not much to do, but then we found the 2nd floor. So many hands on activities from making shoes, launching balls, making music, building, and so on. We... More

Attended the Science on the Rocks! adult event and it was awesome. There were so many hands on science activities we didn't have time for them all. If we lived here we would get an annual pass because our kids would love it! A must do if you are in the uptown area with kids.
