We visted as 4 adults, no children. I think the joy of the place is having kids. We went to IMAX first, to which I'd do again. Everyone enjoyed it, but for adults, it went down the tubes from there. The rain gardens had pretty much nothing but rain, house plants, we saw one bird, one turtle. We were excited... More

Kids will love going through the exhibits and hands on activities. You can try laying on a bed of nails and check all all the reptiles and fossils. Lots to see and do.

My husband and I are both teachers so we took advantage of free educators Saturday. Our sons are four and 17 months, and we were apprehensive that they would be too little for most of the exhibits. We were pleasantly surprised! We loved the second floor where there are lots of building, creating, and a lot of physics. The kids... More

This place reminds me of the Children's Museum in Atlanta, however it has so much more to offer! I don't know who had more fun, me or my daughter. I love the fact that my daughter was learning about science and how things worked. Two exhibits I really enjoyed the shoe exhibit, where you can actually make shoes out of... More

My husband and I took our one year old son here expecting him to have things to look at, but that he wouldn't have much to interact with while we were there. Boy were we wrong! They have a large play area near the front that has lots of toys and a water feature that's great for toddlers! He had... More

Discovery Place has something for everyone, even infants. It's educational, with "hands on" games and experiments. They have science demonstrations, an Imax Theatre, plant life, animal life and a rain forest. Look it up online and believe everything their sites tells you about them. My only complaint, it is not an inexpensive outing, they are pricey.

If your children are under 10 and you live in Charlotte, I strongly recommend purchasing the museum membership. It pays for itself in your first visit and there are perks to being members. Since our son was 3 we have been members. He is 11 now and he still enjoys the occasional day away from video games to take in... More

My son is 6 and had a blast going through the different rooms available throughout the museum. We ended up staying most of the day because of hos enjoyment. Because just about all of the exhibits are tactile, the children can really engage with science. The interaction makes Discovery Place a must-do with children. The adults can get caught up... More

Very enticing for parents and grandparents as a place children love to go to. My 4 year old granddaughter from Colorado cannot wait to go to Discovery place. It excites here see new exhibits and old play areas she remembers form last year. Great way to spend a large part of the day.

Took my niece and nephew here (ages 8 and 11) and she seemed to like it much more than he did. He told me the "science was too easy" and didn't really engage with much except the microscopes and the fish tank (you could pet the fish). What can I say? His parents are physicists! I thought it was really... More
