Attended Southern Season's cooking school on a Saturday morning. We visited the Farmer's Market that is held weekly in the University Mall parking lot, then prepared a wonderful lunch which highlighted the fresh NC produce. Yum! Instructor and volunteer staff members were skilled, attentive, fun. A fantastic way to spend a couple of hours with an out of town friend.... More

Southern Season is a high end foodie store in the University Mall. It is huge, even bigger than huge. There are all kinds of regional specialties and food trinkets of every sort. Plan to spend some time there.

My first professional cooking class and will attend more. Great chef with an easy teaching style. And, the store is a pleasant experience as well.

We walked through the market. It has every gizmo and gadget you could ever need. The international food and wine section was amazing. I would drive an hour again just to spend the day there and eat my way through.

The cooking school is great. Most of them you observe a chef preparing various courses of a meal ansd as he completes them, you are served that item along with a matching glass of wine. We've attended one and have booked five more. The store itself has a large variety of packaged food items from around the world. A fabulous... More

We didn't know anything about Southern Seasons-- old or new --until last year when a friend in Chapel Hill suggested coming to town and going to a week night cooking class. No preconceived notions. Ok, we looked on the web and most classes in the next 45 days were already booked. So my wife and I picked a Jan 2015... More

On 12/19/14 I tried ordering gifts on line but after a long trip through cyber space my order was refused for no reason. I tried again. Same thing. I called the # of the Chapel Hill store and told them what the problem was and asked them to check to see if either order had been accepted. They assured me... More

I don't mean to rant or anything, but.... have reviewed A Southern Season before but the store has since been sold and they have begun to open their stores in other cities. I visited the Chapel Hill location over the 2014 Christmas holiday and therefore I will update my review. We have been shopping at A Southern Season for over... More

It's a pretty store with lots of fun things. It's also ridiculously overpriced and lacking customer service. I don't like to feel as though a store is doing me a favor by letting me spend three times what I need to for an item. I see these same products elsewhere at a much more reasonable price. Maybe walk through to... More
