To be fair it is quite pricey, but they carry upscale items too and when your talking quality you get what you pay for! Meats & cheeses, fresh roasted coffee's ground in front of you, teas from all over the world, gourmet pasta's, sauces & spices. Toiletries and fine china & glass wear plus an extensive wine & beer section.... More

We go here to buy gourmet items and take cooking classes. Last night we took a class on authentic Mexiacan tacos. It was a fantastic class. We also go here to buy North Carolina based items to gift to others when we travel out of state or out of the country. The cheese straws go over everywhere. However this pace... More

For the foodie, this is the place to be! Anything from gourmet coffees, teas, wines, to bakery goods, deli, pastas, international fare, dishwares, chocolates and candies galore! Wonderful fresh flowers and endless gift items. I get lost just looking at the cook ware and small kitchen gagets....they'd make great gifts but I want them all for myself!

As I remember. Food is great. Service was slow. The store inside has everything you could want. Love visiting this place.

This place has so many varieties of foods, books, and kitchen gadgets. If you like to eat or cook or both, you will love it here. Lots of food to order and eat on the premises. Extremely large variety of cooking ingredients and specialty foods.

Since moving to the Raleigh area in 1988, we have enjoyed trips to nearby Chapel Hill to eat and shop at A Southern Season. Today, after eating nearby, we stopped by what used to be a favorite shopping spot. No longer! The store has had a major makeover. Five of our favorite products were no longer available, discontinued, they said.... More

We always make a point to stop at Southern Season when we visit North Carolina. Their Bistro serves great food. The store has a great variety from gourmet food, teas, coffees and pasties to household items, China, handbags and large selection of wines. A great place to visit.

This store is large. Initially overwhelming. The staff is helpful friendly and attentive. This store is by no means cheap but you get what you pay here. Lots of gourmet and specialty food offering. Lots of cooking gadgets and accessories. Fresh coffee, bakery, and deli. I ordered a sandwich for lunch at the deli that was outstanding. Excellent wine section.... More

Just the other day I went to stop in and visit one of my favorite stores, I must admit it had been a year or so since I had visited. What a shock and a major disappointment. I knew the store had been sold by the original owners and that the new ownership was totally commercializing it but I never... More

Love visiting A Southern Season; when I moved to Chapel Hill (in 1976) A Southern Season was a tiny store front where I would buy amazing French bread; now it is an amazing store that has everything!
