We spent a night camping here ($20/night). There are over 80 campsites, not exactly isolated, but somewhat screened from each other by trees and undergrowth. Clean bathrooms and ample potable water. As other reviewers have noted, the only way to get to the campground bathrooms is right past/through other campsites, so choose a site on the outer side of the...

Great place to go and take the family or just go enjoy some quite time alone! Great area for a picnic, sightseeing, fishing or just sitting enjoy listening to the quite and watching the boats go by!
My purpose at the park was to camp for the evening. The campground was well-maintained with pebbled tent pad, grill, picnic table, and some trees, so the spaces were not wide open, providing some privacy and shade. While there, I walked the Flytrap Trail and found some of the plants along with a number of birds. I visited the marina...

This state park is very well maintained. The have nice, secluded and very roomy campsites fitted with a firepit/grill, picnic table and a post for hanging a lantern. The bath houses are spacious and clean, although pretty average campground bath houses. There is a marina at one end and a very nice modern visitors center.

The walk did not offer a challenge as far as level of difficulty which means non-hikers can do it with ease and enjoy it. There was some...

Park rangers are great! Nice visitors center and good trails. Great for the grandkids, aged 5-7. Spent a lot of time on the boat landing.
We live close to here and visit often throughout the summer. Flounder and Drum fishing is great from land and there are boat landings as well. Not sure if there is a fee to land / launch but I doubt it. Be sure to use a Carolina Rig if you are fishing for Flounder. Great place to take the kids!...

This is a decent place to camp if you are trying to visit the Wilmington area on a tight budget ($20/night). Pretty, wooded area near the beach but you can't see the water from any of the sites. We went the Friday before Easter without a reservation and it was slim pickings. The bathrooms were clean and maintained but there...

Busy this year. The park was busier than I remember. We love the trails. And I always look forward to the nature trails by the water. We will see you in May!
