We have visited the train museum but never took the train. Decided to take the First Class trip with dining along the river. You can sit in open air or the adult or children's dining car. Relaxing and fun trip. Some passengers got off to take the rafting trip back. Great for all ages.

Its a nice afternoon with out of town friends; spring and fall leaf season I prefer the old steam locomotive and the "open" cars. I've done the Christmas themed,(best with kids)trip and the New Years Eve trip. On that trip the food was surprising well planned and enjoyable.(A lobster/filet/ foie gras stack)Its not cheap but is worth the experience and... More

The girls loved it! The train ride was very nice and some beautiful scenery along the way. We stopped in an open field to do crafts, putt putt, bouncy house (not able to do because of the rain), met Buddy the Dinasaur and dug for atifacts.

Enjoyed the ride and the scenery but our trip didn't start out well. GSMR needs to do better at boarding their passengers. They tell you to go to a particular boarding gate but then there are no ropes or instructions for lining up. So the people that arrive first wind up being the last to board and since the seats... Beautiful & well worth the cost. Everything from making reservations to boarding & having snacks on board was very easy & smooth. We skipped the prepaid box lunch & just got individual items from the snack car as we rode. This trip was a lot of fun!

We took a ride on the Dinosaur Train this past weekend. It was slightly overcast with a little drizzle. The train was not crowed. We bought the $39 adult ticket with the $30 kid ticket instead of the $59 adult and $40 kid ticket. For the additional cost you get the nicer train car for the 30 minute ride and... More

We had a group of 13 and we decided to rent our own caboose. It was the best way to go. The staff including the conductor was very helpful and answered all our questions?

After reading the reviews and even agreeing with some before I experienced this attraction I felt compelled to do my own review. I perceived this attraction exactly as I had experienced(a mountain town riding on a train through the countryside with views of what I had seen driving down from Cherokee,NC).I enjoyed it more when someone else got to do... We had a great time and the staff was absolutely great. The ride through the park was beautiful and the short stay over was fun. A banjo player was available and he was enjoyable. Recommending this to everyone that wants a relaxing time. Can't stress enough the beautiful scenery.
