My hubby and I went in May 2015. We did the adult only open air car. It was beautiful day, perfect weather. The views are fantastic. Train cars are comfortable and staff is great. The trip we took went over Lake Fontana, which was a surprise to me. It doesn't matter which side of the train you sit on, you... More

Very pleasant journey out of Bryson city, over Fontana lake with an hour stopover at the outdoor centre where you can buy food drinks and ice-cream, and have a paddle in the river if you so wish, nice 4. Or 5 hours trip

This was the first time we rode the GSMR. It was a beautiful, scenic trip. We rode in an inside car and was well worth the price. We pre purchased lunches including bbq sandwich, hot dogs and vegie wrap. The food was very good except for the vegie wrap. It didn't have hardly anything in it, was mostly wrapper with... More

I would do this again. Service and view of the mountains was great. Went first class... Well worth the extra money.

We show up, get ourtickets, told to go to platform. There's a band playing and a bunch of people hanging around. No anouncement made or anyfurther directions given. The train leaves us and a few other people behind. No refunds.....

First I will give the reader a few insights into what made our ride better. You are going to be on slow train ride for several hours and that can end up being stressful. We were there on a day that was threating bad rains and a little hesitant to make the trip. After all, $50 may not be much... More

Had a great trip, BBQ sandwiches were great. The kids had a great time, rode in open air car & the views were great. The train museum was very nice.

Excellent customer service. Our tickets were accidentally scheduled for the later train on our day of departure and the lady at the Depot ticket window upgraded us to First Class as there were no more seats available in Crown service. She was the best! She also brought out complimentary travel bag tickets to us on the train. Turns out first... More

Train was nice and the ride was relaxing. The views were not as good as I thought. lots of time looking at kudzu. Unless you want to kayak or whitewater raft or swim in ice cold water the NOC stop was not very good. Nothing else to do there. The food was not very good in the train. Pretty but... More
