I decided to take my wife on her first train ride on the Nantahala Gorge Excursion. We had a great time, and we enjoyed the first class open air car, it wasn't bad since we had the breeze. We really enjoyed Steve our host, he was very knowledgeable and let us know when the best photo opportunities were coming up.... More

This was a unique and good change up from the usual outing. We took the Nantahala excursion with family. There were beautiful sites along the way, good picture spots and plenty of history was shared. There was food on the train available, and it seems like they thought of everything. The seats are a bit pricy it seems, but the... More

Everyone with whom we came in contact was amazingly friendly and helpful. We bought first class tickets and the food was great. The service was amazing. The train was clean and well maintained and a unique experience. I would recommend this to others. In fact we may just take a large group of neighbors there and try to fill an... More

Great experience even in the rain that morning, loved the adult open air car. Good BBQ meal to go along with it. Stopped raining for the trip back. Will do it again!

I had always wanted to do this so this trip we did. I booked out trip in the moonshine experience car. This included tastings of shine and a BBQ lunch. There was a cash bar as well. Included in the package was a very nice canvas tote, a shot glass and mason jar drinking glass. The trip featured nice views... More

We were traveling with two other couples and opted for the First Class car. We were met by David, a very personable man who was our server throughout the trip. The food was good, the service excellent, and the train car was clean and comfortable. David was very knowledgeable as we journeyed along giving us "heads up" on the best... More

We really enjoyed our first class train ride. The car was air conditioned, we had lunch and dessert served, had unlimited refills on our drinks by our personal wait staff, Lynne. She was very helpful and informative. We had entertainment by 2 really enjoyable guys who played the banjo and guitar. My husband and I really enjoyed our day on... More

This was a long journey by lakes and rivers and the seating is sideways so everyone has a good view. The food was not great didn't like mine at all so you might like to take your own. Soda filled up all the time by the hostess. Stops at the end of the line and you have an hour to... More
