My husband and I had a great time on the train, enjoyed the views in the fall and the history of the area. We had lunch at Nantahala outdoor center which we enjoyed on the layover. The only down side was very rude kids running and screaming. We left our seats and went to the outdoor cars to get away.... More

My husband and I had fun riding the railroad. The scenery was beautiful. The stop at Nantahala Gorge was very nice, the rapids were awesome. If you want to just relax for a few hours the train is the way to go. I would suggest not eating the train food and eat when you stop at Nantahala.

My family of 5 + grandma, went on the Polar Express ride and it was the best thing ever. We did the first class type package. We figured since it would be a one time thing we would go all out. My kids really enjoyed interacting with the actors that were on our car. They also loved that when Santa... More

Such beautiful scenery and a great time for the family. We went for the "Cherokee" car, which was the most inexpensive. We absolutely loved being able to open the windows and breathe the mountain air as we went along the tracks.

The ride to the Nantahala Gorge & back was excellent with a stop over at the Nantalaha Outdoor Center. Their outfitter shop is a great place to visit while there. Our grand kids love to ride the train!

Very comfortable and informative ride. Got to check it off my bucket list. Nice amenities. I'll be back for a trip to the south end of the line after they start that run on March 8th.

This was a nice experience for me and my family. We were on vacation and decided to do this railroad and we loved it. We got there souvenir cups and had free refills the whole trip. We took amazing pictures of the views we saw while on the train. We also stopped at this cute little town. Worth every penny.

We went on the Polar Express on Christmas Eve and it was excellent! Our kids loved it! Only negative was that the gift shop didn't stay open until after our ride was over, but that just saved me money as we would have purchased some stuff!

We did the Polar Express ride on December 30th (the last day that it was available) at 6:30pm. We rode in a first class car, and the part we were in was very roomy (I think a few people didn't show up, but even if they had, there would still have been plenty of room.) My kids (ages 6 and... More

I found this attraction to be extremely pricey for what they have to offer a lousy one hour trip to a tiny nearby town. Dull nothing really worth to mention. I would not recommend this attraction.
