We got the family bucket and enjoyed sifting through the mud to find our gems! Great learning opportunity for the kids and so exciting for them to be able to play in the mud/dirt but find treasures! There was another gem mining place closer to Bryson City but it was PACKED...this one was more remote and family-friendly. Definitely glad we... More

We stopped in and bought a 5 gallon bucket to sift through. Our son was excited that he even found a buffalo nickel in one of his bowls. We sat there for an hour sifting through and picking out our stones. The gentleman that helped us was extremely nice as he helped us identify our stones.

We were delighted to make a stop on our way out of town. Bought the $35 family bucket. 3 kids ages 4-10 enjoyed sifting through the rocks and dirt and all came away with a bag of gems including rubies and emeralds. Sweet folks running the place. Would definitely stop again.

This was very relaxing and fun. At this place you get higher quality rubies than the other places that provide other type gem stones.

Fun time with the wife and kids. The lady working there really knew her stuff and spent time explaining all the minerals to my girls. My 5 year old gave her a hug when we left. Great choice for $35.

My kids LOVE coming here for gem mining. We bought the $35 family bucket and my triplets (age 9) spent about an hour going through all of the dirt. We found some good sized gems, a geode and a shark tooth fossil. Not too shabby! I especially love that when you are finished, they will sort all of your findings... More

We visited on a Monday afternoon and it wasnt crowded. I believe that it is run by a family and everyone seemed to be very knowledgable and helpful. We purchased the family bucket for $35 (5 gallon bucket) and it took myself, my husband and our 7 year old son about 45 minutes to sift through it. We were not... More
