I have been to Tsali several times as it is a short trip by car up from Atlanta. It took me about 2 hours and 45 minutes to drive from the north side of Atlanta.
Tsali has 4 trails arranged in sort of a clover leaf. Mouse Branch and Thompson Loop on the west side and Right Loop and Left...

Excellent hike - rotation of horses and bikes on the trails. Great views of Lake Fontanta - even with the low lake levels.

Stayed at the Tsali Recreation center with friends.
Pros:
Campsite were large enough for 2-3 4-person tents.
Easier drive to rafting and boat rentals.
Close to grocery stores and restaurants.
Cons:
No hook-ups for campers
Bathrooms were not the cleaniest for the ladies.

My wife and I hiked the left loop, 13 miles, on a hot July day. First 6 miles where great with a lot of pictures. Next 7 miles where in the woods on a 100 deg day. Trail was easy to follow and a mild challenge if you are in decent shape. We enjoyed it and would recommend it if...
