We spent a wonderful afternoon at the Foggy Mountain Gem Mine! For the three of us, myself, my husband ( who swore he wasn't going to do it) , and my son, we got the second to the smallest bucket. They treated us the same as the groups with largest buckets, the staff was very attentive. My husband seemed to... More

Took our kids here on a whim. It's not all that bad, especially for a place that just lets you play with rocks. We found a few nice gems. The kids had a great time.

It's hard to choose what to eat there. Everything is so amazing and different. I would describe this place as a non traditional approach to traditional pub food. From a "thanksgiving reminicent" sandwhich to a "grown up" macaroni and cheese, it was a pleasant surprise for us.

Very nice facilities. Mining area is covered, so you are protected from rain, wind, etc. Very helpful associates. Showed us the process, step-by-step. Came by periodically to make sure we were doing okay, and were happy to answer questions about gem identification. They did have a chart, but wasn't all inclusive. Offer different size buckets, but even the lowest price... More

My 9yr and 12yr boys had an excellent time. The staff spent a fair amount of time helping us and educating us on the gems that we found. Very cool

My kids had never been gem mining before so we decided to stop in. Definitely worth the money. We all enjoyed finding treasures and had several small bags of gems to carry with us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Best of all, there was no pressure to purchase anything or have stones cut. They went through out stones... More

Rainy day in Boone so we decided to try a gem mine. The area is inside and so the rain was not an issue. My husband and I shared the medium tub of rocks & found a lot of large gems, and many small colorful ones. The staff was friendly & very helpful. I like how they sort your gems... More

The staff were excellent. We enjoyed panning for the gems and at the end the staff telling us what gems we had kept. Our grandchildren would have loved the experience.

My sister, husband, son and I went up there on a referral. It was WELL worth the trip. We had a great time and found loads of gems. I thought the buckets were higher than what I would like to spend, than I got digging and found out that it is worth the price. I've got a ring getting done... More
