High Mountain Expeditions is a very nice place, everyone is friendly and helpful. Nick was an awesome guide, Big Steve seemed like he would be fun too! They are great with kids, ours were 13 and 9, we went on the more exciting upper Nolichucky which was a blast. If you are nervous about whitewater rafting either because it's your... More

I’m really trying but can’t think of one bad thing to say about High Mountain Expeditions. They have many senior river guides who really know what they are doing; their facility is the best anywhere and gets better year to year. High Mountain has a lot of adventure and relaxation options for those who prefer to stay off the river,... More

THE HIGHLIGHTS - THE GOOD, THE BAD and THE UGLY: GOOD: Somewhat professional operation, decent buses, experienced staff, well organized. BAD: Lunch is over-hyped and swarming with yellow jackets, insufficient info on website, ill advised to "not take anything with you on the raft", no warning about ramifications of low water levels, inattentive bus driver, TOO MANY water vessels in... First time whitewater rafting. The water level was a little low making trip slower and rockier, but being a beginner that was ok. I couldnt have had better guidance than Bradley. He was calm, cool, and collected even as he was pulling swimmers out of their predicaments. All day fun, lunch, excellent guides. Excellent day! More

Our party of 10 age ranging from 11 to 58 had a fantastic time on the river today. The folks at High Mountain did a beautiful job of entertaining us from start to finish. It was very relaxing and exciting from moment to moment. The service was spot-on, everything was as advertised plus more. While on the river we had... More

This is the only spot in the Boone area that provides transportation to Tennessee for the white water rafting. It also costs about the same amount, if not less than their competitors. It was fun for the whole family!!! We loved it! Our guide was excellent with the kids, & very knowledgeable. We would do it again in a heartbeat! More

If you have ever thought of putting a little adventure into your trip, this is the way to do it. We studied several rafting companies, but decided to go with High mountain Expeditions after a leader for a local girl scout troop told us about their upcoming trip. The place is very family oriented. There are many adventures to be... More

Great guide company. We did the Nolichucky River day trip. Great whitewater, excellent shore lunch. Trip was not rushed and lots and lots of excitement throughout the day. Well worth the money. Our guide was Bradley...he was great. More
