It was unfortunate that we were stuffed into a 6 man raft with 8 of us + guide. one of my sons couldn't even find a reasonable place to sit in order to paddle, had to basically spend the trip in the middle of the raft. Add to that that 1.5hr bus ride (each way) to the river and it... More

Navigating the Nolichucky in individual rubber kayaks was a blast! I took the day-long trip with my partner and my 15-year-old daughter in late June. We have rafted several times before in larger, multi-person rafts, but this our first time before rafting on our own and it was a GOOD experience. It was challenging and fun. Eight miles of rafting... More

Had a good time. Met at the end location and loaded up in a small bus that took us approximately 5 mins up the road/river. Got our tube and started down the river. The guides were nice and only met, drove and dropped us off. It was fairly relaxing , except for looking out for snakes (saw 3) and rocks.... More

Leisurely afternoon of tubing for a family of 5 (2 adults and 3 girls 11,11,&14). I called early in the morning and we were able to get a spot that day! Meet the folks from High Mountain at a park on the New River, boarded their van for a 15 minute ride, jumped off grabbed a nice tube with a... More

First time rafting on this river ... water level was low so we opted to go on "fun- ayaks" - it was a lot of fun and a great experience. The guides were awesome and worked very hard to keep everyone moving down the river and avoiding low water areas. High Mountain Expeditions is a first class operation ... the... More

Great trip down the Watauga, and a super first rafting experience for our kids (7 and 5). Good food for lunch and our guide, Chris, was excellent. looking forward to another trip already!

The float trip was a lot of fun. Our guide Eric was knowledgeable, informative, and went out of his way to look after our needs with two small grandchildren (ages 4 & 6). The booking process was easy and flexible with the changes we need to make. This activity work out well for our family reunion gathering.

We had an amazing time on the river! The only bad things were the long bus ride and there were no bathrooms where we had lunch. However, Matt and Ethan made the bus ride bearable. They were so funny telling jokes and making up stories. I sat right up front and Matt was the driver. He drove very well by... More

The guides were competent and professional. Good value for the money. We ranged in age from 14 to 72 and it was good for all of us.
