We went tubing with high mtn last summer. it couldn't have been more disorganized. The pickup van was very late arriving to the parking lot and we almost gave up and left. Then the two clowns loading the tubes and driving the van were so stoned it was scary and not what I wanted my sons and nephews to see.... More

My family (including 3 teenagers) had a great experience with High Mountain while rafting down the Nolichucky. Despite the river being slightly low, they still made it a great trip. Our guide was well versed in the river as well as how to provide for some fun. Nice lunch on the rocks as well. Nice being able to pick up... More

My family and I chose to go tubing on the New River. Great experience!! We selected this company because a friend highly recommended them. I have to say that Josh our driver was super friendly and courteous! He told us exactly what to expect since we were first timers. (At the end of our trip instead of just giving us... More

Our family booked a tubing adventure with High Mountain Expeditions. We arrived at the meeting spot to discover that we had accidentally booked tubing for the next day, but our guide Ryan accommodated us and let us go ahead and go tubing since we were already there. The tubing was very fun and relaxing and we all enjoyed it. We... More

Picked this experience based on reviews and was sadly disappointed. We chose to come to the Boone area to celebrate my birthday and to try to get in some greatly needed family time before the end of summer. The ONE outing we chose to do in the area was White Water Rafting and I chose High Mountain Expeditions (HME) to... More

I was a little worried at first, that maybe, we didn't book the 'right' rafting experience. Well, we did, hands down. We decided on rafting down the Nolichucky, instead of the Watauga. The Nolichucky seemed to be more enticing since the Watauga is more family friendly vs. more rapids and excitement on the Nolichucky. So glad we did. Lombardi was... More

I had to rate this experience as a 1 due to the fact that I was lied to. Aside from that, the experience was enjoyable and the guides were great. I signed up to do a funyack trip down the Nolichucky River. I was told when we arrived that the waters were too high to safely navigate the river in... More

There are a few over night tasting trips out there but this one was way cheaper and nearly all inclusive! This company works very hard to make sure that their customers are happy. The rafting is awesome and the camping was the easiest experience ever! The snacks and food that they cook and serve is outstanding! The bonus of a... More

This is the second time our family has visited this part of North Carolina and the second rafting experience as well. This was by far our most enjoyable experience. We had a busload of 25 people plus guides for a raft trip down the Nolichucky. I found the guides both friendly and knowledgeable about the river and area. They were... More

My husband and I are recent graduates (2011) from ASU and went up for a long weekend. I looked at several companies and we decided to go with HME. Excellent choice. I called 30 minutes before we wanted to go, they took our reservation and emailed me a receipt. We showed up and the young man just needed to see... More
