Nice resort within Charlotte area. Very family oriented and seemed to have various levels of skiing. Fun for the whole family, great for school or church groups. Shopping, food, ski schools. Fun, fun, fun!!!!

This was the kids first time skiing, 6 & 8. We signed them up for the Ski Wee full day. They had an okay time, seemed like there wasn't enough variation for the first two hours on class and they seemed a bit bored. The property doesn't offer any greens, so any trails available for others and after kids did... More

If you are going to see snow, Appalachina Ski Mountain is great. We want to go back and ski. The ski area was ell maintained. They also had a nice shop where we purchased some cold weather gear.

We went on a Tuesday so the crowds were low. Our instructor was patient and positive. She taught us the basics and off we went. Our two kids had a great time.

This place was very crowded and it took a while to rent the things we needed but once we got out there it was still a blast and the set up was very nice. I couldn't say enough GOOD things about the staff, from the parking man to the clerks they were all SO friendly and helpful. We enjoyed ourselves... More

Growing up in eastern NC, we always went to VA and WV mountains for snowboarding. We visited Appalachian Ski Resort this week and will be coming back. The staff was awesome and very good with the kids. The resort is small, but that works well when you have two kids that are starting to explore on their own. The cafeteria... More

This is a great place for beginners. Resort is laid out well and clean. Food choices were good but expensive. They charge $400.00 deposit on snowboards which you do not get refunded for 30 days. Gift shop is nice and reasonable prices. Parking is $1.00. We had 2 adults sking and 4 boys snowboarding. Everyone had a great time. I... More

We had a great experience with our family on a day trip from Charlotte despite cold blustery weather with temperatures in the teens and the wind chill making it below zero, along with high winds of 35 mph! From the layout, to customer service, to the slopes, the resort was very family oriented, cozy, easy to navigate and a lot... More

3 short hours from Raleigh, NC and the family was on the slopes. You talk about a perfect place to take kids 4-18 this is it. Challenging for hard core skier, but fair enough for the young ones just learning. Great part for myself who is not allowed to ski was the great lodge where I could watch and see... More
