This is a great family adventure for children 5-11. We always enjoy hearing the sound of Tweetsie from our home in Blowing Rock, NC from May until the last of October. The train steams around the mountain as it comes under attack by a variety of bad guys until the passengers are returned back at the station safe and sound.

I have been coming to Tweetsie Railroad every Halloween for years. It has become a family tradition (a tradition that borders on law--missing it can cause harassment that borders on pure evil). It is one of the few excursions into the mountains I allow myself (Editor's Note: I freaking hate snow), and we always have an excellent time. The Tweetsie... More

Our 2.5 year old loved it and was able to ride virtually everything there with a parent! Sit in Car #3 on the right side if you want to see the action on the Train!

A little overpriced for the value received. To me it was simply one of those bucket list places. The kids enjoy this place far more than the adults but I'm OK with that. The have a few kiddy rides and plenty of gift shops. Its not a Disney park despite being priced like one.

We visited this past weekend with our kids (ages 4 and 8) and they both had a great time. The first thing we did was take the steam-train ride, which was the highlight of the day for our 4 year-old. There are a couple of "shows" along the train ride and the actors join you on the train to say... More

We showed up late afternoon with only 2 hours til closing. They have a policy of providing you passes for the next day. That was really nice. The park was cool looking, we were pushing a stroller, the view from the stroller entrance was cool. We immediately hopped on a train. As we started off, the train ride was really... More

This "Ghost Train" event is so wonderfully goofy...the train has a ghostly facade and takes you through a "spooky" story of hauntings and a train catastrophe, supported by live action, video, and of course, the train itself. It's silly fun, and the ghoulish conductors will sneak up on you and scare the cr@p out of you while you're riding just... More

If you'd love to see the mountains but that means giving up the state fair then Tweetsie is the place to go. Entrance fee is a bit much but some of the gift shop items are super cheap so it sort of balanced themselves out. Our little girl rode most rides about four times each. Most importantly she had a... Pretty but nothing like the ads you see on TV. Well kept grounds, looked like the train and rides were in good shape but since it was closed we really couldn't tell. Was nice to find it so that we could see before coming back when it is open.

We visited Tweetsie Railroad to ride the Ghost Train on 10/18/14. We have a 13 and 9 year old. We got to the gates before they opened at 7:30 and waited to go in. Upon going into the park, we went left and visited the Haunted Forest, 3D Maze, etc. on that side first as the park suggested on Facebook.... More
