This is the closest skiing to charlotte and right near blowing rock so you don't have to drive the extra 1/2 hour or more to the other slopes. It also offers a 1/2 day ticket, which is about all you need. Overall very good. There aren't a lot of slopes, but good place to go for 1/2 day or a... More

Okay, the runs aren't long or challenging, but the resort is extremely well run. Weather this past Sunday and Monday was a little warm (45, 39) but all in all we had a good time and the slopes were in good shape for NC slopes. Convenient to Blowing Rock and my son likes their snowboard terrain parks.

We've gone as a family to App ski mountain many times when we had a cabin not far away and we still make the trek from Raleigh for day trips. It's the only place I will go in the Boone area to ski on a weekend, because Sugar and Beech get stupid crowded and you'll spend all your time in... More

My wife and I decided to drive to Appalachia from Gatlinburg, TN one day, because there wasn't really any good skiing in TN due to the warm weather. We didn't have any problems with the slopes (even though they are a far cry from CO), but we did have a problem with the customer service. We picked up the requested... More
