Beautiful, well kept park with plenty of picnic tables, charcoal grills and rest room facilities. There are hiking trails, babbling brooks and lots of shady trees. I couldn't find any trash cans until we were on the way out of the park, then there was a dumpster for trash collection. It would have been nice to have trash barrels in the... More

It's been about 7 years since we last camped at Julian Price Park campground. I had expected it to be a bit better than the last time we visited, but was not. The campground is very dated and rundown. Most of the camp sites are eroded and very treacherous to walk safely - but if you have been there before... More

We enjoyed the Green Knob Trail, recommended by some Park rangers. It took a little over an hour, and led us through some beautiful rhododendron, and up to a glorious mountain vista. I'd hesitate to walk on this trail after a rain; it could get mucky.

I have been here twice- the first time was on a saturday in July and it got really busy. So I went back the next year in July with my kids during the week and only saw a few other people that morning. It's a really easy hike to the waterfall and fun for the kids to get in the... More

Absolutely beautiful area of NC! The lake is picturesque! Kayaks and canoes are available for rent (cheap!) or bring your own and paddle for free! Trails are fairly well-maintained (thanks, YCC), and bathrooms are available. Great picnicking area too, with a cool stream for cooling off.

I'm a local and I hike this trail regularly. It's been wonderful to watch the trail get improved over the years! The new bridge over the marsh is an excellent addition to the trail. The hike itself isn't strenuous; mostly flat. The walk around the lake is beautiful and there's always a plethora of wildlife. There's a canoeing area where... More

My family decided to hike at Julian Price on recommendation from a friend. There was plenty of parking, and it wasn't crowded at all on the Monday that we went. There were bathrooms available, and they were pretty clean. A couple families were playing in the stream and having picnics. The hike was fairly easy with a few slightly more... More

We made it a point to visit JP Park as we had passed by on prior trips but did not have time to stop. There is a huge area on one side of the Parkway which is used as a picnic area. A creek runs through the area and it looked like a perfect spot for a picnic. We stopped... More

This place is awesome. Has an awesome lake where people fish a lot. Really good hiking trails! (Hebron is recommended) also has an awesome creek in the center of the park. Some nice spots to set the Eno up at.

Julian Price Park offers a great place to camp, picnic and especially hike. The two mile trail around the lake is fairly easy with many scenic views. There are also other trails in the park system that offer a bit more strenuous level of hiking. This loop trail can be started either at the main lake pull off or near... More
