My family and I were here this past weekend. We wanted to drive along the parkway and this was the place i picked to stop and grill some burgers and take a break. It was such a good feeling to see other families picnicking and such because it just felt like all was well with the world:) There are several... More

My family hiked the trail around Price Lake in September. I gave it an average review just because I felt like it wasn't bad, it just wasn't spectacular. It's an easy hike, although, with children, it was pretty lengthy. I think it took us several hours to make it all the way around the lake. Our kids stop a lot... More

We'll return to this campground! We were on a maiden voyage with our new Jumping Jack Tent Trailer (an A+ quality, dual-use piece of outdoor equipment...do a search and you'll see for yourself!) This campground did not disappoint. An internet search done 48 hours prior to arrival, on recreation.gov, provided a number of sites available. We chose one sight unseen,... More

We love going to Price Lake when we are in Blowing Rock. There is a trail that goes all the way around the lake but the last two times we have been there, parts of the trail were very muddy and some places there was standing water. The trail can be rather difficult in places. But overall the scenery is... More

Awesome views, not crowded, rock outcroppings on shore line. Great for canoes and kayaks, no white water. Canoe rentals $13 /hour available highly recommended.

I spent an enjoyable day in the company of friends at Price Park and Lake. There is ample parking space and open meadows for games and the like. We hired kayaks from the boat rental shop - you can get single kayaks, double kayaks, and either 2 or 3 man canoes. We spent an hour kayaking around the lake, getting... More

The biggest mistake was planning a picnic Labor Day Weekend. The scenery was great and everyone looked like they were having a wonderful time. There was a shallow stream under a canopy of trees running through the through the picnic area. Children had on their bathing suits and were running through the ankle deep water playing tag. (the smart ones... More

Picnic grounds were very clean with a ton of tables to choose from. Canoe rentals on Price Lake were affordable, $13 an hour, and you can paddle the whole lake in about an hour.

This has got to be on top of my lists for the most beautiful hike ever! Boone Fork Trail! Please do not think it might be too strenuous, I am 68 with pulmonary fibrosis. I had to pause a few times but I am sure the beauty is what took my breath
