Recently we visited Julian Price Park several days in one week. Each day we got a picnic table just a few feet away from a small creek. The kids had a great time splashing around in the creek wearing water shoes. They rearranged the rocks in many ways. The adults were able to sit and relax but still be close... More

My husband took a partial walk around the lake. It was beautiful. The rhododendrons were in bloom. Easy to park and was not crowded.

The Julian Price Park was a neat place and well worth the stop. Also hiking on the old stage coach trails was fantastic as was the view from the fire tower I kept reading about the Boone fork trail so I figured I would try it. First off let me begin by saying I love to hike and I have... More

We will make this a stop every time we are in the area. It's an ideal picnic spot for the kids who have been cooped up in the car. Our daughter played in the winding creek to her heart's content. She wanted to eat her lunch on a boulder in the creek! We didn't make it on trail but there... More

This park has something for everyone. First off, it's completely gorgeous. Even the parking area has blooming wildflowers and a small scenic creek meandering by. It's got tent and RV camping, a lake, swimming, fishing, canoeing, and miles of hiking trails. Boone Fork Trail is one of the best hiking trails in all of western North Carolina; at minimum it's... This 5 mile trail was the highlight of our 2 day hiking. It's challenging and you pass over streams several times. The park doesn't look like much when you enter but the trail makes up for it. I particularly liked the ladder we had to descend...I wasn't expecting it!

Spent a few hours here walking around and checking out the park. Spent part of the time hiking around the lake. Perfect hike next to the water. There were a few muddy spots so be prepared for that. Well worth getting a little dirty.

Price lake offers great fishing with not too many confusing regulations. You can rent a kayak, take a scenic walk, or fish on the shore and take in all the natural beauty. You can catch Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Brook Trout, and Sunfish. Definitely a place I will visit many more times.

Excellent place to take a short (or a long) hike. We went on the trial that started at the picnic area. Beautiful scenery, well-maintained trail, and nice and quiet. Did not take the entire loop as we did not have that much time. Might try it next time.
