We stopped by to kill some time on a cold afternoon outside of Blowing Rock, NC. We stopped at the trail entrance off of the parkway for the Green Knob/Sims Creek trail. What a great hike for my family. A couple of slightly strenuous areas, but a great hike overall. We plan to come back and do more hiking in... More

Price Lake is an awesome place to boat or walk around. Really nice during the summer and even better during the fall when the leaves change!

Great hike... Trail is moderate, 5 miles about 3.5-4 hours. The waterfall is beautiful and a great place to stop for a picnic.

Julian Price Park is a great stop along the Blue Ridge Parkway. I suggest you make this a destination and spend the better part of a day if you like outdoor activities. There is canoeing and great hiking trails (though some are a bit muddy in spots). Families or singles can enjoy the activities. I've been here many, many times... More

We took the full hike around Price Lake, about 2.5 miles altogether. The trail is easy, but does have a few wet spots near the lake. There is a project in the works to improve the trail overall....the west half is much better than the east half at this time. The lake is made by several clear streams entering it... More

Hiked the Boone Fork Trail after a suggestion from local shop owner. This is a 5 mile trail that was perfect for our family. Beautiful scenery and a perfect mix of easy walking to light hiking for the novice hiker. We spent about 3.5 hours on the trail, which gave us plenty of time to stop and explore the scenic... More

Stopped here in the morning while driving down the Blue Ride Parkway. Gorgeous spot, especially on a crisp Fall morning. Can't wait to come back and explore the area a bit more.

Basically, I thought this was going to be a casual walk, and it turned into what felt like the road rules/real world challenge finale. We had a blast and it was a great time, but understand the loop isn't for everyone.

We had a raining Saturday on the parkway and stopped at the lake for a quick stroll. Even in the rain this is a nice destination. They have fishing, canoes and kayaks for rent in season. The leaves were beautiful reflecting off the lake.

Good place to take a break right off the parkway. Good view of the lake and you can rent canoes in season.
