Price lake offers great fishing with not too many confusing regulations. You can rent a kayak, take a scenic walk, or fish on the shore and take in all the natural beauty. You can catch Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Brook Trout, and Sunfish. Definitely a place I will visit many more times.

Excellent place to take a short (or a long) hike. We went on the trial that started at the picnic area. Beautiful scenery, well-maintained trail, and nice and quiet. Did not take the entire loop as we did not have that much time. Might try it next time.

Located right off the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile marker 297, there are beautiful hiking areas, picnic areas and huge lake for canoeing or kayaking. No fees were charged. What a bargain Lots of rhododendrons and mountain laurels, can't beat the beauty of the parkway in North Carolina. Bring your lunch, hiking stick, hiking boots, canoe and kids. Make it... More

We spent last week in the area and returned yesterday 4/18/15. We have been hiking trails in the area for 30 years and always do the 2.5 miles around Price Lake. We like to see what the beavers have been up to since our last visit. We talk about renting a canoe one day, perhaps later this year. It's just... More

They have a beautiful lake to kayak or canoe on with easy access. Also, the boat rental are per hour and very affordable. Great picnic areas.

Make sure you have swim suits for the kids, bug spray and a picnic! You can explore here for a solid day without anybody becoming bored. Arrive early for the best picnic spots...don't go for the obvious! Many tucked away spots that are like a story book. Enjoy!

Good even pathed trail. Nice for picnics. Offshoot trails provide more hiking options. Best for families.

Good place if you are traveling with children or grandchildren. Rememberd in past years the kids tossing football in an open area close to where we stopped to picnic & running off energy. Also, some some good walking trails around the lake.

Here's a great spot for picnicking and wading in the stream. Plenty of parking usually, but popular with hikers and college students on nice days. Fine hiking trails from the parking area, and Price Lake has a good hiking loop.
