We played this golf course in mid October 2015 with no problem getting tee time in the afternoon. Our tee off was shortly after 1:00. Appears that most locals play in the am. Reasonably priced at 27.50 including cart. Few people were on the course so we enjoyed the fall colors without having to rush. Course condition was average with... More

This was my second time to play the course. I was actually very excited to get to play it again. I played it the first time last year while attending a conference at Ridgecrest Conference center. I have told people all year about the beauty of this course. Hole after hole is framed with beautiful vistas of the Smokey Mountains... More

Excellent, challenging but fair mountain golf course with friendly staff makes this a "must-play" if you are in Ashville area. After your round, stop in the "19th Hole" grill for a real surprise and a super lunch. The 19th hole is run by a chef named Scott who turns out incredible food in the simple, no-frills course grill. After golf,... More

What golfer would turn down the chance to play a mountainous course with a 767 yard Par 6 (Hole 17)? We had a noon tee time on a Tuesday and just breezed around the course. Singles, twosomes, threesomes and foursomes are all welcome. While there were some (obviously locals) brave soles who walked the course, hubby and I took a... More

Went there with my golf playing son. Didn't know what to expect by arranging a tee time via phone. Arrived and was impressed by the green fairways and greens throughout the layout. With the latest heat wave, everyday in the plus 90's , the grounds team has done a superb job in keeping the greens true and fairways green. Such a... More

This is a great course, Good shape. The food at the club is surprisingly tasty. Challenging without being overwhelming. They have what used to be the longest hole in the nation. Fun course.

This course is fun to play. Tight with parallel fairways but enough challenges to keep one alert. We enjoyed our afternoon of golf. Playing as a twosome behind other twosomes we finished in 3 hours. The pace of play was great. Since greens are next to the next tee box it makes for faster play too. It was a fun... More

Lots of water and fun. Green a bit too fast. Walking is preferred if it is an early morning golf. Spa available in the club house. Very convenient for a massage after golf.

For a public course it gives you a great views, holes with some slope, some blind shots and of course what used to be the longest hole in golf - the famous par 6. If you are staying in Montreat or Black Mountain, gives you a fun afternoon with friends.

We golfed while on vacation in Black Mountain. The course was in much better shape than in past years. The greens were vastly improved. The staff is to be commended. It was an enjoyable round and we look forward to returning.
