We enjoyed the winter of 2010-2011 natural snow a lot. Hoping it will come back soon. More

I lived in Colorado and have snowboarded all over the west and in the alps; honestly, I expected a lame NC experience. BUT NO, we had a blast! The tickets were cheap, the mountain was fun, and the best part, now that I'm 40 with kids... the folks at Beech treated us like rock stars! Every thing we did, the... More

Crazy, too many people, and dangerous. I would not let my kids ski here. More

We stayed at Beech last weekend, and it was very nice, the town is cute and quaint. The skiing was terrible, but not Beech Mountain's fault. The weather had been warm, melted all the snow, and the same evening 25 degree temps rolled in with high winds, so it was definitely difficult to see and Icy. Beech was blowing snow... More

This was the worse skiing trip I have been on. Conditions were perfect for skiing however the staff was late and not friendly. They kept making snow during prime skiing time and placed the machines in the main channels. It caused your goggles to ice over and so you had to close your eyes going through it and could not... We went to Beech Mountain in the middle of a heat wave (or so it seems). We were very concerned that the blown snow would be icy and miserable. It wasn't. Of course, blown snow is kind of cold and wet and makes going down the slopes somewhat less enjoyable but for the weather (mid 40s and up as the... More

We went to Ski Beech near Banner Elk, NC the first week of January. There were 6 of us (3 couples) and two children, 6 & 11. This is the 2nd time we couples had gone and we enjoyed it so much we came back to the same area with the two kids. We skii'd mostly but we did find... More

Long lift lines in the afternoon, when the late day session arrives. Get there early, ski 'til about 1:30 (when late session arrives), hit the bar for a bit, catch a few afternoon runs before 4-4:30 More

Our family of 5 spent lovely winter holiday week at Beech Mountain. Long story short, you will be happy you picked that place for your winter vacation. It is about 10 min. from the slopes or 5 min. opposite direction to the big Recreation Center with plenty of activities if weather is so so. You will find an excellent one... More
