Went here with my nine and four year olds. I will never go back. The staff on the mountain were rude and unfriendly, even to my son who apparently "messed up" the grooming job one of the employees in the fun park. When he went so far as to question my fitness as a parent for having my son ski... More

Despite the awful comments below me, my friend and I had an AWESOME time at this ski resort. Two females 22-24 that haven't snowboarded in 6 years. We had only three days in Boone, so we decided to ski Sugar the first day and Beech the second day (third day for rest of course). Beech mountain has better slopes than... More

Our first time ever visiting a ski resort and what a disappointment, even that word seems inadequate. Our 11 year old has been wanting to learn snowboarding and as a surprise we took her to Beech Mtn and the Burton Learn to Ride school. For 125.00 she would get all day instruction, lift ticket, rental equipment and lunch and snacks.... More

If you want to skate on the hills this is the place for you. If you want to ski in the dark because the ski resort cannot keep the lights on for night skiing come here. If you want to sit in a dirty lodge come on in. If you want to sit on the ski lift instead of actually... More

Beech mountain was so much fun. It was myself, an 11yr old, 14yr old, 23 yr old, and our parents. We ALL had a blast. Snow skiing and everything was all very family oriented. There is also snow tubing and ice skating close by. We rented a 3 bd 2br from Beech Mountain Chalet Rentals and the price was unbelievable.... More

I'm not really sure how to start this as I typically only comment on things I like. But I feel like there is so much potential something should be said. We took our kids for their second skiing experience, on the plus side their instructor was amazing. On the down side... It is almost as if Managment went out of... More

We have been to Sugar Mountain before and decided to give Beech a try. The day we visited was rainy so business was slow and that was just fine for us! The ski and snowboard equipment was clean and very new-unlike Sugar- and the staff all over the resort were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The kids liked the slopes more... More

This is a great place to bring your kids (12 and under) to sled down a snow covered hill; the cost is FREE; adults can sled with a child if needed (but otherwise, it's for kids only); parking is across the road and is also free; can't say enough about how nice it is to have a place to get... More

So, we have now officially skiied/snowboarded at Appalachian, Sugar and Beech. Beech is by far our favorite for North Carolina skiing. Now, if you have skied out west or Europe, you have to go into ALL southeast skiing with low expectations. We just don't get the snow and the resorts are tiny. But, as I tell my kids, it's better...
