I have been coming to Beech Mountain since I was a child. I now reside in Charlotte, NC making Beech a very convenient trip away from home. I have a 3 yr old who loved the sledding hill and ice skating. I am six months pregnant, so skipped snow boarding this trip. Beech is a great place, with decent lifts... More

Took our family ice skating in the village and had lots of fun. Though it was a warmish day and the ice wasn't the greatest, it was still beautiful and fun. The staff at the ice skating area couldn't have been nicer or friendlier. Amazing bargain at $15 including skate rentals.

Beautiful views & great spot to learn. The prices are reasonable. The town at the top has more to offer than Sugar Mountain. Equpiment is in good shape. New boot & New skies. There is a mixed group of talent, beginners all the way to those that hit the slope and fly down.

This was our first time at Beech. We usually go to Sugar Mountain. Several things were bad: 1. They blew snow the whole day, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. It was horrible. Very miserable. 2. The staff that worked the lifts were rude. They actually yelled at people and didn't help anyone. One person fell and his boot strap... More

We stayed in a private house for a week off season (October) on Beech Mt. The area is very accessible from most areas of the SE. Their are many easy accessible well marked hiking trails. The week we were there the leaves had just reached their optimum color. It was truly amazing. It was very hard to walk anywhere without... More

We spent a few days in the Beech Mountain area and we like the area immensely. From Fed's store to Banner Elk restaurants with a local winery is a great place to spend a relaxing vacation.

Beech Mountain in the summertime is a great place to visit. It's a little high for $10 to take the chairlift, but on a nice sunny day, and knowing I'd be at the top a while I didn't mind paying it. They've built a gorgeous deck at the top with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables. And centered with a huge... More

Enjoyed the area and atmosphere. We stayed at the Pinnacle Inn, in a condo which was completely furnished with everything a family normally has at their own home.

It is a place to go, where you want to get your ski legs before going to real slopes ( Lake Tahoe area is one fav ). Vertical drop is... well, at least there is one. its doing the best with the area it has to work with. You cant blame a hill for not being 11,000 ft tall. People... More

We went to the mountain and it was a good trip but they told us all slopes would open up. Basically 2 slopes was open and when we asked Ashley (obviously not a good costumer service agent) if we could get a refund or a new ticket for the next day she was just plain rude and told us no.... More
