When we moved to NC back on 06 we went to Beech Mtn and fell in love. It became an annual trip for our family and friend. Very family oriented sky resort. Everything you need is so close but has a small town feel to it.

Rich people can lay back or trek, golf, tennis, antique shop. I hit trails every morning with a picnic lunch of what I grilled for dinner the evening before. It took me to another level of relaxation/recreation. Old people on golf course can be grumpy. Service people are often college students on summer break. Gourmet food, casual dress, full services,... Attended Acoustic Syndicate concert in Beech Mountain Brewing Company as part of apres ski series. Concert was great and I would like to hear this band again. Food was in short supply as were bartenders. The crowd may have been more than was expected.

We checked the reviews of this place before going and a lot were negative. We decided to go anyways and had a great time. We skied for three days (Wednesday through Friday). Going during the week is the way to go. My wife and I put our two boys in snowboard lessons on the first day, paid for a group... More

Whether it's to snowboard/ski, hike or just to escape the summer heat, Beech is best. We've owned 3 homes there and raised 2 children, splitting our time between Beech Mountain & the Charlotte area for the last 35 years. The locals are hospitable, the YMCA-like Rec Center is open to guests and you can eat breakfast at Fred's Backside Deli... More

Beautiful scenery. Lots of interesting things to see. People working at the shops and around the town were super nice. Worth the drive to see the view from the mountain.

It is charming and a great place to take the family. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome. I recommend eating lunch a little early or late. There is not enough seating during the lunch rush. The real little children can skate while the rest ski. There is something for everyone. We had a great time.

This was an amazing place to visit. My family and I skied/snowboarded for our first time. The snow was melting pretty fast, and they expected the season to be over within weeks. Beautiful mountain. Lots of switchbacks. Watch for potholes.

Go down the road to Sugar Mountain instead. We went to Beech with no knowledge that all but one lift was down, so we could only experience 2 beginner slopes, which got old real fast. Not one single person tried to tell us before spending over $70 purchasing all the equipment and gear, and then told us to go to... More

I went to beech on a weekend right after 5 inches of natural snow fell. I got to the mountain (which claimed 44 inch base) and by 1 pm saw plenty of dirt on one of the top runs and tons of ice on the others. I don't know where they measure at but just expect NC ski conditions all... More
