We spent a few days in the Beech Mountain area and we like the area immensely. From Fed's store to Banner Elk restaurants with a local winery is a great place to spend a relaxing vacation.

Beech Mountain in the summertime is a great place to visit. It's a little high for $10 to take the chairlift, but on a nice sunny day, and knowing I'd be at the top a while I didn't mind paying it. They've built a gorgeous deck at the top with Adirondack chairs and picnic tables. And centered with a huge... More

Enjoyed the area and atmosphere. We stayed at the Pinnacle Inn, in a condo which was completely furnished with everything a family normally has at their own home.

It is a place to go, where you want to get your ski legs before going to real slopes ( Lake Tahoe area is one fav ). Vertical drop is... well, at least there is one. its doing the best with the area it has to work with. You cant blame a hill for not being 11,000 ft tall. People... More

We went to the mountain and it was a good trip but they told us all slopes would open up. Basically 2 slopes was open and when we asked Ashley (obviously not a good costumer service agent) if we could get a refund or a new ticket for the next day she was just plain rude and told us no.... More

This was my first ski experience and it was good overall! The locker rooms and outside could stand for a few renovations, for instance, the ski rental equipment shop being on the activity level or same level as the locker rooms, lift tickets, and ski area. We visited Sugar later and found it to be more appealing, at least in... More

Just finsished a ski weekend in the Banner Elk area. We skiied both Sugar and Beech. I have to say Sugar puts Beech to shame on almost all phases. The organization of Sugar is a Gazillion times better than Beech. It is one strait shot from lift ticket/ski rental purchase to boot fiiting to ski setup and then to the... More

Good prices for pretty much everything. You can go overpay at sugar or you can get a good price at beech and pretty much have an overall better experience. BTW a 12 oz can of beer at sugar is 6.50 only 2.00 at beech. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Beech Mountain ski resort was a great place to visit. We went to ski school to learn the fundamentals and we had a great time. The staff was patient and professional with us.

Our second season skiing in NC. Traveled from Florida. Had a great experience with ski rentals and skiing on Beech Mtn. Bunny hill area is pretty small, but fortunately we are past that point. Lines were a lot shorter than those experienced at Sugar Mtn. The runs were a good and the lodge was large. Maybe it was just me,... More
