If you're in the area, this should be a must play course. Great design with plenty of sand and water. When we played the course it was in very good shape. Challenging but fair with 5 sets of tees. We were really happy we chose to play North River.

If you don't know this course, you could lose a lot of golf balls - there is water all over the course - someplaces that you can't see until it's too late. The course must have been built prior to 2008 when the real estate bubble had not yet burst, and it appears the owners intended the course to be... More

I haven't played all the courses within an hour's drive of emerald isle, but this one is definitely worth the drive! After the rain we had last night, the course was in great shape. The greens were in excellent condition but the bunkers need work but who hits them there? :)

This development is only a few years old & ran into financial difficulties. Understand that it is now under new ownership/management. It is a great & well laid out golf course with tons of potential to match the tons of water which appears on most holes !...The greens were in very good shape, the Tees were fine ... fairways were... This is a course that is only 6 years old. They are attempting to build a golf community, houses, tenis courts, pool, ect. Currently there are many open plots of land with sewer pipes sticking out. There are also 3 story high sand mounds from construction sites that are visible. The course however is great. 6 tee boxes that relange... More

North River is a great course, the staff is great and makes sure you have a great round. This course is tucked away from the tourist centers in a country setting

This a fairly wide open golf course, but don't allow the basically treeless fairways fool you. There are many bunkers, waste areas, and carry over water to test your nerves and golf swing. I found the course to be very interesting, with many visually appealing holes. The greens were in fine condition, and a well struck tee shot resulted in... More

Well maintained coastal course offering plenty of challenge for any handicap. Not many trees but water and sand traps on every hole provide for a good round. Fairways and greens are kept in great condition year round.

Thoroughly enjoy playing this course--my favorite on the Chrystal Coast. It has a length for everyone--4 sets of tees--and plenty of hazards to keep you honest with shots. Nice driving range, friendly staff, reasonable price--$35 after 12:00 including cart. #18, a par 5, is the signature hole and has to be the most difficult finishing hole I have played--water down...
