Great Captain. Great Experience.

The trip was exciting and the captain makes you feel welcome. He really made the ride fun for my kids.

We took the Cape Lookout Lighthouse 3-hour tour with Island Express. It was $35 pp. It is not one of the large ferry boats but an open boat that holds maybe a dozen passengers. We had 8 on this trip. We read the website beforehand and took way too much stuff. Take a towel, sunglasses for sure, BINOCULARS, suntan lotion... More

Captain John was excellent! He knew exactly where to go to see the wild horses, dolphins, birds, jellyfish, and stingrays! We got some great pictures and had a wonderful time. We will do it again in the future!

The ferry employees are very safety conscious and also very informative. I have a mobility issue and they were very helpful. I was able to discuss my itinerary in advance with a very helpful person on the phone. They manage a tight ferry schedule while being very considerate and not at all impatient. Because of their consideration I had a... More

Captain Jeff did nice job providing information about local ecology during 45 minute boat ride from Beaufort to Cape Lookout. Climbed the lighthouse. Scenery worth the 207 step climb. Enjoyable experience. Cheaper if one drives to Harker Island to take the ferry but worth the experience if one leaves from Front Street in Beaufort NC.

This is the ferry service that use to be next to maritime museum on front street. Been going on tours with these guys for years never had a bad experience. Knowledgeable captains carry you on a tour of the outer banks by cape lookout telling you about the areas history and wildlife. You even get to see the wild ponies... More

We went yesterday 6/20 and had an absolute blast! We went sand dollar hunting and found about 32. We also found some live ones but you leave them be, we found some live conchs, as well as a hermit crab. We were out on the sand bar for about 2 hours however it really only felt like it was about... It was $15 to go from Beaufort to Shackleford Banks on the ferry, but it was definitely worth it. The man talked about some of the different surrounding islands, and he tried to find us dolphins, but there weren't any around at that time. Shackleford Banks itself was my family's favorite part of the trip, so I would highly recommend... More

My husband and I decided to take a boat tour while driving to Beaufort/ New Bern. It was the best decision! We chose to take the Cape Lookout Tour which takes you all the way from Beaufort out to Cape Lookout, past Shakleford Banks and back again. Our tour guide/ driver was great and has lived in the area all... More

May,2015 My sister and me spent several days in Beaufort N.C. I must say the highlight of our trip was a trip to Sand dollar island. We are both in our 50's but we felt as happy as little children, joking with the very nice captain and running along the shoreline of a sand bar hunting sand dollars reminded us... More
