This was very interesting. We took a tour and the tour guide was very knowledgeable. So much history.

I have been to the old burial ground in Beaufort several times and will continue to visit there when I am in the area. When you visit there, be sure to get a map of the grave sites to follow along. The points of interest are numbered as you walk from grave to grave you can read the stories of... More

It was fun to stop here for a few minutes. I love graveyards and burying grounds....there are many 19th century, and some 18th century, graves here. Makes it very interesting to look around. Very pretty area, too.

If you lived in the area and knew (and cared) about these people's history it might be more interesting. The grounds are not well maintained. The donations must go to something else.

Day or night, this cemetery is spooky. We whisked through the graveyard, saw a lot of illegible tombstones. Apparently these dated back pre civil war. Later tombstones easily stands out with its more ornate masonry. Stately trees provide a perfect setting. Best visited perhaps during halloween?

The history here is incredible and the trees here are certainly part of the History. Some rather different ways of burying people back then.

My family and I visited the site on a beautiful morning after my husband and I went on the ghost tour. It's like taking a step back in time when people truly honored family and preserved the memories of their loved ones. It's a wonderful and heart warming experience

If you want to visit a beautiful historic city that is not too crowded but has all the romantic live oaks with the hanging moss and horse drawn carriage rides around the city, you need to visit Beaufort. Lots of history in this small city by the Atlantic Ocean. This city lies between Charleston and Savannah. We took in all... More

graves, graves, everywhere!! Humbling site considering the history of the area. Interesting to see the dates and occurances leading to their deaths
