My wife took me to Sugar Mountain for my belated 40th birthday present in early March. They have 25% off in March so that's a plus. I had been here 14 months ago for my first... read more

We went here over Christmas break 2014. The snow was fake so it wasn't soft. It was extremely crowded on the slopes and we waited on average 25 minutes each time we wanted to get on the lift. In about 3 hours, I only made it down the slopes about 4 times. The resort is OK. Better looking than Catalooche... More

The people were so nice. Small town which I love. Slopes were nice and reasonably priced. Trainers were very informative and the food was good. Meet people from all over and everyone said the same thing, how everyone was so nice. Will definitely go back.

If you only have enough time to drive to TN, SC or NC i would recommend Sugar Mountain. They do a good job grooming and the facilities are nice. They have two nice long green slopes, several good intermediates one of them is a mile long. And for the south the black are pretty good. The prices are reasonable, all... More

My wife took me to Sugar Mountain for my belated 40th birthday present in early March. They have 25% off in March so that's a plus. I had been here 14 months ago for my first ski trip and fell in love with the sport. I'm proud that I greatly improved my skiing skills on my second trip, falling only... More

Sugar Mountain is one of the top 3 ski resorts east of the Mississippi river. They have something for everyone. If you are into skiing or snowboarding, it is there for you with multiple runs varying from beginner to expert and more than 5 types of lifts. Their rental department has plenty of options for all levels of skier and... More

I love skiing. People say that if you can ski in north Carolina than you can ski anywhere, and I believe that to be true. Do not come to this ski resort. It gets too crowded, and you would assume that, that would happen, but between the crowds the terrible terrain, mean staff, it does not make a pleasant experience.... More

Its a decent hill to get your ski legs under you, if you only get to ski a couple times a year. Obviously if you live close, you cant complain. Rates are OK, not exactly cheap conisdering the size of the skl-able areas, but at least you can ski if you live south of here. The lifts are a bit... More

We took a weekend ski trip to Boone and went skiing at Sugar Mountain and just had a great time! It was suggested to us to ski at night from 6pm to 10pm because it was cheaper and less crowded and they were right! The lift tickets were cheap, lines were short, the slopes were not very crowded, and everything... More

While snowboarding with my son he and another child wrecked and they fell together. The ski patrol came over and clipped his lift ticket. Due to the fact my son's ticket was clipped I asked for my money to be returned since obviously I'm not going to continue skiing while my child sits in the house. I was told by... More

Drove up for tubing, the small slope used for it is ok, more for those that don't like speed. The property needs a little work and the staff is helpful. Food is expensive as is the cost for tubing. $30 per person for just two hours. I find that a bit much for the small slope used. The parking is... More
