Went there on what turned out to be one of the coldest, windiest days of the year (18 degrees but the "feels like" temperature on the app said 7!) Now I know they can't control the weather, and I know it's probably not financially feasible for them to modernize their lifts (painfully slow and open to the elements), but do... More

Slopes were well covered, not too much ice. Best time to ski early morning as you can tell when the lunch crowd comes back out by the long lines. Overall good day snowboarding.

On a three day vacation, a friend & I decided to snowboard Sugar Mountain after 6 years of being away from the slopes. I'd say Sugar Mountain was a great way to get back into the swing of things. Rentals were about $25 and ski passes were VERY reasonably priced. There was plenty of space and very helpful crew members... More

Prices can be a little better, but peak hours/holiday are their bread and butter. Fun mountain to ski if conditions are right. In my opinion, best mountain to ski at coming from Atlanta. Last Run Lounge quiches your adult thirst after skiing complete or a much needed liquid courage break. Enjoyable mountain to ski, but nothing like out west or... More

Yes, it was crowded (MLK holiday weekend). Yes, the service was perhaps not the most efficient. However, Sugar Mountain is awesome! Truly a great place if you make it what you want. We've been to Appalachian before and definitely prefer SM! Great slopes and fun for everyone (from beginners down Easy Street to advanced down Whoopdedoo). Here's a few tips... More

Good ski runs for beginners thru the double diamond group. You can easily enjoy a full day there with the kids, stopping only for meals and hot chocolate! The lifts run well, and are monitored. However I will note that on one crowded afternoon with difficult snow (partially melted)conditions, folk would pile up as they jumped from the lift chair... More

I just got back from a half day of skiing on a holiday (MLK Day). I really enjoyed it. My friends and I rented equipment off the mountain (do this!! no reason to rent at the resort... do your research, people), took a free shuttle from the parking lot to the main entrance, and bought tickets in a matter of... My son and I went to all three ski resorts and I liked sugar best out of all three. We are both beignets and stayed on the lift to the left going all the way up. That run is about 5-8 minutes long. The green is ok but on MLK there was alot of bodies on the ground. We had... More
