We took the full day trip down the Nolichucky with a great guide, Alex. We had a wonderful time and the river was great for the whole family. Lunch along the river was pleasant and the potato salad and fresh pineapple were real treats.

Wildwater Rafting at High mountain Expeditions was my family's favorite highlight of our vacation in the NC Mountains. The High Mountain Expeditions area is SO beautiful - we truly felt the nature and sport here. The guides were very friendly, fun and safety conscious and took great care of us during our raft trip. The beginner course was perfect for... More

The tubing guides were friendly, helpful and humorous. The $5 cooler tube was so worth it. A great value overall. Family really enjoyed it. We weren't out of the river 5 minutes before we were planning a return visit.

The bus ride was about 45 minutes long, but it was totally worth it, the guide told hilarious jokes the whole way to the river, after this we were treated to some sandwiches in park followed by safety instructions at the river after this we entered the water and spent about three hours whirling and twirling through rapids, it was... My family went rafting on the Watauga river for my nephew's birthday. He probably would have enjoyed the Nolichucky better but we had my 5 year old niece with us also. My niece was nervous and scared but our guide, Lombardi, went out of his way to chat with her and put her at ease. The beautiful scenery around the... More

Took my young brother in-law who was in town visiting on a day trip down the Nolichucky. He is 15 and was a little nervous. Not to worry though as the staff with High Mountain were the best that there is. Our guide Ben took great care of everyone in the raft. The experience among the other guides seemed to... More

Last week my husband, 3 teen kids, and I rafted the Nolichucky with High Mountain. For most of us in the group it was our first time rafting. The trip was wonderful. Every detail was well thought out and planned by HME including the quick stop for breakfast (bring some $) shortly before reaching the launch site, a relaxing lunch... More

I did the July 8th Watauga trip and had a wonderful time! The guides are very friendly, helpful, professional and so much fun! Jamey "saved me" not once, but twice when I fell in : - ) My hero for the day! The Watauga is a great trip for family. There were quite a few younger children on the group... More

We took a rafting trip with our 4 young children, ages 7, 6, 4, and 3 and they all had a blast. Everyone got to paddle, got in the water at one point or another. The guides were great and very friendly even with my kids.
