My husband, 11 year old daughter, and I took the expedition to Worley's Cave on April 1, 2015. We had a beautiful day, and our guides, Lewis and Lombardi, were amazing- they were very knowledgeable, helpful, enthusiastic, and easy to get along with, not to mention funny:). The trip is pricey but worth it. (I will note that when I... More

My husband and I took the family rafting trip on the Watauga river with our 4 year old son. We had a great day. Our guide, Chris, was wonderful. He was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable and capable. He was also wonderful with our son. We all had a great time on the river and look forward to returning... More

Our family was looking for a relaxing activity over the labor day holiday. We decided to go tubing and called High Mountain. They were so gracious and accommodating. I've done lot's of rafting, tubing, and kayaking with multiple companies. There were two things that stood out to me about this company. First was the quality and cleanliness of the tubes... More

My fiance and I did the Nolichucky River day white water rafting trip and had a wonderful time! Our guide Shaggy was very knowledgeable about the river, wildlife and the history in the area. We even saw a deer swimming down the rapids! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking for a day of fun. Like many of... More

Me and 2 guys went on a rafting trip last Sunday (august 24th) and we had a lot of fun. Our 2 guides were Lombardi and Alex. Besides these guys being easy on the eyes, they knew a lot about the river and kept it interesting the whole time. I also enjoyed the singing on the bus ride there. We... More

My two kids and I (they are 11 and 13), went with HME on the Nolichucky River for a day white water rafting. We had a good, fun time. The river wasn't too cold and the weather was perfect. The guides were very knowledgeable about the river and took everybody's safety to heart. Our raft flipped over (nothing we could... More

While vacationing again in Boone, we visited High Mountain Expeditions again for a rafting trip on the Watauga River. Our guide Ryan was awesome again, and made our second trip with him once again a memorable one, especially for our 94 year old aunt that joined us. Ethan made the bus trip fun as well. They made sure we had... More

My four kids range from age 4 to 12. It was all of their first time going. The guides made it a good and funny bus ride and fantastic overall trip to the point that they asked all night if we could do it again the next day. Thank you so much HME

I have read a lot of negative reviews about this company talking about cold water being thrown but that at least did not happen to me, They probably had to stop doing that because of the number of complaints or something. Anyway on to review. Things i didn't like: 1. The guide staff seemed uninterested in peoples safety exspecially our... More

We went on the 1/2 day trip on the Watauga River. It was really an awesome tour. The bus ride to the river was about 40 mins , but the guides Chris and Matt told jokes and showed us sights as we rode which made the trip go quick. When we got to the river we realized the water was... More
