Whiteface may have made its name in winter, it has the highest vertical drop in the east, after all but it does summer pretty well too. The warmer months make Whiteface a natural setting for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels and ages, whether you're looking for an adrenaline rush or just an afternoon of beautiful views with your family. Take a hike along the Stag Brook Falls trail or Bear Den Mountain, play a round of Disc Golf and check out the area's most exhilarating, challenging Mountain Biking terrain. Or gather the family for an afternoon of taking it all in with a Scenic Cloudsplitter Gondola Ride to the summit of Little Whiteface. Drive the Whiteface Veteran's Memorial Highway to the summit, and lean into the Adirondack breeze as you marvel at the world below you. This well-known mountain offers exciting and scenic runs for skiers of all levels: Beginners do well on Easy Acres, which features its own ski school, novices and intermediates enjoy Little Whiteface, while experts head to the heart-pounding summit.

Whiteface is wonderful

Whiteface Mountain is one of my favorite ski resorts! There is always a good amount of fresh power and the crowds are usually light. I can't wait to return!

Great mountain for the above average and aggressive skier/rider. Handles the weekend crowd well also.

This is a tough season to rate any ski area with such low snowfall & warm temps. That being said, Whiteface is a unique ski mountain and worth the visit. Being in the Adirondack Park, Whiteface is not a condo development masquerading as a ski mountain. You ski down slopes surrounded by forests and mountains, not condos. The runs are... More

Our family went here skiing/snowboarding and had a blast. There are plenty runs to chose from and the lines went rather quickly. They have a nice restaurant & pub here as well but the food was not impressive.

The staff is all very helpful. The Gondola ride is worth the $20. Cloud Splitter Lounge and the Wine Bar are both great places to relax. The Wine Bar has a fantastic menu and the Staff are outstanding.

I have been traveling to the Adirondacks for 40 years and every year I can't help but to return to Whiteface . It's simply the most beautiful place in the northeast at any time of year .

The views from the top are outstanding and much more appreciated by hiking in from the bottom of the mountain. We lucked out and didn't realize that the road to the overlook and castle were being repaired and paved so the only way in was to hike in to the location. Needless to say we were one of only three... I took my family to Lake Placid and went skiing at Whiteface right around New Years in 2015. My kids wanted to go to the second tier chair lift. That never should have been open after getting to the top and seeing it was a total sheet of ice! My younger guy who is an intermediate skier and myself were... More

We are so sorry you had a bad experience at Whiteface Mountain. Encountering icy terrain while skiing is definitely nerve racking. As you know, East Coast weather conditions have presented many challenges in the way of providing optimal ski conditions. The staff at Whiteface has worked tirelessly to provide the best conditions possible during a very extraordinary weather pattern. We... More

This ski area is great for all levels of abilities. Non-skiers can ride the gondola to enjoy spectacular views as well (weather permitting). The mountain was challenged by warm weather and rainy conditions, but workers were busy making snow whenever possible. The slopes were slightly crowded due to limited openings, but colder weather/snow will quickly improve this. A beautiful area... More

There are three ways that you can see the beauty of Whiteface Mountain. 1. You can drive up via NY-431 coming from the east to the north side of the mountain, but it is closed from late Nov (open early May). 2. You can take the gondola up at the ski resort (off of route 86 to the south/eastern side... More
