Whiteface may have made its name in winter, it has the highest vertical drop in the east, after all but it does summer pretty well too. The warmer months make Whiteface a natural setting for outdoor enthusiasts of all levels and ages, whether you're looking for an adrenaline rush or just an afternoon of beautiful views with your family. Take a hike along the Stag Brook Falls trail or Bear Den Mountain, play a round of Disc Golf and check out the area's most exhilarating, challenging Mountain Biking terrain. Or gather the family for an afternoon of taking it all in with a Scenic Cloudsplitter Gondola Ride to the summit of Little Whiteface. Drive the Whiteface Veteran's Memorial Highway to the summit, and lean into the Adirondack breeze as you marvel at the world below you. This well-known mountain offers exciting and scenic runs for skiers of all levels: Beginners do well on Easy Acres, which features its own ski school, novices and intermediates enjoy Little Whiteface, while experts head to the heart-pounding summit.

They are repaving and road is shut down. Could not go up. Very disappointed! Would have been nice if construction crew gave us an idea that we could not go up the mountain It's a good thing I have a good sense of direction as there was no tower and no signs anywhere. Not a happy camper!

This is the best skiing resort outside Toronto: it is a real mountain, with the highest elevation in the East and awesome views from every slope, it is closer to drive than Mont Tremblant, also almost twice the height and arguably less expensive as well if you are flexible with the dates, even considering rate difference. It is not crowded... More

It was an awesome season for skiing, the snowfall this year certainly helped but the snow making has improved a lot. Fun Challenging place to ski!!!

The drive on the highway offers spectacular views with many pullout areas to take photos. Whiteface mountain is easy to access with the highway and is one of the best Adirondack locations to take pictures. Fantastic view from the summit! The tunnel to the summit is an engineering marvel. Two notes of caution. Black flies are a problem in June... More

Thank god for a American President who wanted all to be able to see. It is so worth the slow ride up the hill, pulling over at the photo views. Once two the top you have two wonderful choices to complete your journey. 1) the elevator. Well worth it because of the history lesson you are given of what it... More

I've visited Lake Placid at least a dozen times, and a visit to Whiteface Mountain is always at the top of my list. Whether skiing in the winter, taking a gondola ride to Little Whiteface, or driving up to the top of Whiteface during the warmer months, there are breathtaking views no matter the season. It's on my bucket list... More

If you can ski Whiteface you can ski any mountain - west coasters have it easy compared to east coast ice. The resort is a bit overpriced and there are no bathrooms near the main cafeteria, but otherwise it's great.

It is one of the best expert mountains in the U.S.A., where two winter Olympics were held. It is hard and fast snow and steep. If you can ski here, you can ski anywhere. It is a skier's mountain. The lifts and gondola lines move very fast. Waiting is a minimum. The scenery is magnificent. It also has some intermediate... More
