We took the 1 hr bus tour, which was nice. If time allowed, I would have done the 2 hr tour. Wish we had had more time to explore on our own!! In the Visitor Center, there are great displays about life at the academy. Make sure you have at least 3 hrs for the Museum.

The private company that does the tour of West Point obviously does not require any training of its guides. Our tour guide's knowledge concentrated on the Army vs Navy rivalry in football, etc, and the physical feats of the cadets. There was no historic context for what we were seeing and we spent entirely too much time in the Chapel... More

We were on a bus tour in the area and had a step-on guide. She was excellent. Knew everything about the college and was able to answer our questions. Learned about the rigorous path of study that the cadets follow. Beautiful campus overlooking the Hudson. Don't miss the protestant chapel The stained glass is one of a kind. Worth a... More

This is truly a must see for all. So much history to be seen as well as learned. Taking a tour from the visitors center was well worth it. We took the 2 hour tour and were very pleased, our guide Ed was so informative! I learned things I had never known, but will remember forever.Ed was able to answer... More

This whole place is situated along the Hudson River. Absolutely beautiful scenery. The buildings are all huge gray stone buildings, like castles. We toured 2 days before the new cadets were to arrive, so we didn't see many students, only a few around the "barracks" (dorms). West Point Tours drives a tour bus around the facility and gives an informative... More

Unbelievable beauty and history to this place. Much nicer to visit as a parent/tourist now than when there as a cadet way back when. Is truly like no other place. Take the time to walk around - so much to see. Even if not a history buff - very interesting and beautiful sights everywhere. Of course you have to see... More

The grounds are amazing, so beautiful and so much history to take in. We self toured with a cadet and watched the Women's Volleyball games which were so much fun. Felt so much pride for the students and the Country while visiting this site.

Don't miss this amazing historical site. The beautiful grounds are a history Museum in real time. Walk the beautiful grounds where some of America's greatest leaders were trained and where some the most historic events in US History took place. Beautiful beyond belief don't miss it

We live nearby, but hadn't been to West Point in years. We took the two hour tour that left from outside the visitor's center. (Keep in mind, they only accept cash, or at least they did when we were there.) We boarded a small bus and it made three stops: on the campus where we saw the field and the... More
