Whitianga a best kept secret. Nothing is too much trouble for Fred, really wonderful at letting us know about the animals & getting the McCaw out for photos. A neat little train ride for the kids & great prices for a plunger coffee & a slice. We plan on coming back & camping later this week as it was soooo... More

If you love animals this is the place to be!!! Fantastic for families or groups anyone is sure to have a blast. The park is easy to navigate, very tidy and the camp facilities seem great (wish we had camped there but unfortunately we were unaware there was a campground there). This is a hidden gem. Fred and Gaye where... More

When driving towards Whitianga we saw the sign for this bird park and made a plan to visit the next day. We are glad we did. We packed a picnic lunch and on arrival made our way to the picnic area where we were greater by the Kunenkune pigs. What characters they were. We enjoyed a walk around the grounds,... More

Awesome cosy campground! Fred&Gaye are fantastic and everything was perfect during our stay, even during full Christmas period. Kids had a ball with the animals and playing around this nice and safe park. We loved it!

We were lucky to find this hidden gem, as there was little advertising of it. However, this made it feel like we had the whole place to ourselves! Fantastic day out for the family, the kids and adults alike enjoyed hand feeding all the animals, the kunenkune piglets were a favourite. As was getting to have the Macaw sit on... More

We had such a wonderful experience at this beautiful bird park. To be able to be so close to all of the animals was very exciting for young and old. It's a must see when visiting Whitianga. Next time we visit we'll stay a few days and enjoy the facilities of the clean and modern campground.

Consider this place a must-do if you have young kids while on holiday in the Coromandel...heck teens would love it too. So many different animals and birds, the place is huge. The goats and pigs are hard cases, the parrots and lorrikeets very friendly and the train ride is fun. Our 20 month old loved the place, we spent about... More

Came to mill creek bird park on a day where weather wasn't looking so good and it was fantastic. Lots of animals to feed and pet. All gorgeous and friendly. Little signs to tell you a bit about the animals were interesting to read. Nice people ran the place too. Well worth a visit. 10/10 would recommend.

We were visiting the Coromandel Peninsula as a family during the school Fall Break here in New Zealand. We decided to camp at the Mill Creek Bird and Campervan Park. As a bonus for camping there you get free entry into the bird park. Our kids didn't want to leave on several occasions because they were having so much fun... More

We have a beach house at Whitianga and visit the Bird Park every opportunity we get, at least once a holiday. We love meeting, what are now, our feathered friends and hanging out there. My wife is in love with Biggles the African Grey. We recommend it to all of our friends that come and stay and they always rave... More
