We did the guided tour of the lighthouse. Special thanks to our tour guide Kerry Ann, she was very good and very accommodating. She even got umbrellas for us to use as we did the tour in a middle of a storm! The lighthouse is not that high so for me it's an easy climb up the tower. The tour... More

Set amidst the beautiful surroundings of the Cape, this Lighthouse isn't as big as the one in Cape Leeuwin, but still worth visiting!

We are very lucky to have such a beautiful home in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park! This time of year is a magical time to visit – we’re seeing whales swim by during almost every tour, and the wildflowers are beginning to bloom. The great thing about being situated on a Cape which is 120 metres above sea level is that... More

I visited a few weeks ago the Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse and was really disappointed. Never ever do the "Basewalk"! It's just the 50m walk to the Lighthouse and you can go around. You can't see the ocean just the fence around the Lighthouse and I payed 4$ for it. I didn't want to see the inside but a nice walk... More

I am sorry to learn that you didn’t feel the lighthouse base walk provided good value for money. The towers at Bunbury and Busselton offer amazing views, so thanks for sharing these tips. Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse does work slightly differently as it’s still a functioning lighthouse, and by paying your base walk fee you have helped to support the important... More

Cape Augusta was much nicer as it was taller... Cape Naturaliste sits on a cliff so its not as tall... but the surrounding trails are worth checking out..

Thank you for recommending the walk trails round the lighthouse. There are 4 to choose from, which range from 1.3km to the 135km Cape to Cape Track, which begins at the lighthouse. When you reach Cape Naturaliste Lighthouse you are already 120 metres above sea level, which means that you climb just 59 steps to arrive at the top of... More

The tour of the lighthouse is very interesting for anyone with an interest in maritime history or engineering, or in fact anyone who wants a great view of the cape. There are quite a few steps to climb so make sure you are good on your feet!

Thank you for your visit to the lighthouse and for capturing the different elements to enjoy during tour! While we advise precaution when climbing the lighthouse, Cape Naturaliste is actually the second shortest lighthouse in Australia, with 59 steps to the top. Best wishes, Attractions Manager More

We took the tour and were led by Emerald who gave us an interesting and informative tour. The lighthouse itself is quite small and not so high because it's on a hill. So it's great for older folks. This also means that each tour group is limited to 10 pax. You can also walk around the lovely grounds after that.... More

Being not on the "Margaret River" list, this lighthouse misses out on a lot of the tourist trade. This is good and bad. Good for people like me that doesn't like crowds or coaches, bad for the people trying to run this place. It's a great spot and very historic. It doesn,t need to be tall because it's on a... More

Had to pay just to walk to the lighthouse and then pay more to go inside and do the tour. There were three of us, the other two walked around the track and I paid and walked to the lighthouse. Not worth all of us paying. It is securely locked up inside a high fence and not terribly visible from... More

Please be assured that the $4 entry fee is greatly appreciated as it provides us with the important funds needed to maintain the history and the heritage of the Lighthouse for future generations. we only had time for a base walk so no enter to the lighthouse... $4 to do it I think it's about $8 to go on the tour we arrived 30 mins to late for the last tour of the day. So to be Fair I can't really say much else about it except it was built in 1903

What a shame that you missed your chance to go on a fully-guided tour of the lighthouse this time! The last tour of the day departs at 4.30pm and you can always call ahead in future if you need to double-check departure times – we’re on 9755 3955. I hope that you found your base walk enjoyable, and thank you... More
