We set off with Naturaliste Charters from a rocky port, Augusta. Chilly weather but the sun was shining. We didn't know what to expect. The tea and biscuits were a pleasant surprise. In no time, we were so close to the Humpbacks we could nearly touch them. A southern Right with her young in the not so distant future. Incredible... More

We went out this week with Mal and Rhett on our 4th whale watching venture with Naturaliste Charters. We were taken straight to an area with many Southern Right mothers and calves. The whales frolicked within about 25 metres of the boat and very close to shore which astounded us. Commentary from Mal was very informative as usual. We can't... More

Mal and Brett (apologies if incorrect!) were great hosts, extremely knowledgeable, helpful and respectful of the whales' environment. We were kept entertained, felt safe throughout and our family had a wonderful time, one we will never forget. Thanks guys!

A great experience and well worth doing when in the area. The crew are friendly and knowledgeable. We had dolphins swim beside our boat, saw numerous whales and felt well looked after. Would highly recommend !

My second time out on the boat with Captain Mal and crew. Another amazing trip. Don't know how he does it? Such a great combination of skill, wit and knowledge about whales. If you want to see whales, not just look for them. If you want to experience the natural wild life and have a great time. This is the... More

Either because of or in spite of the cool winter weather, friends and I took an afternoon whale watching tour on Cetacean Explorer. The crew were very spirited and enjoyed showing us the waters. The seas were a bit rough, but we managed to see about 6 different pods of whales in 2 hours. The entire experience beginning to end... More

Left from the new Augusta port which is stunning. Tour guides great especially Mal who was very knowledgeable being a marine biologist and a humorous and capable skipper. Only managed to see a few hump backs from afar and no breaching but it was still an experience not to miss. Well done Naturaliste Charters.

Wonderful day, appreciated the students/ seniors discount. Lots of whales, friendly crew. Was worried about the sea after last weeks record swells , but fairly calm, big well equipped boat made it comfortable. Another one off the bucket list. Thank you Naturliste charters

Within 10 minutes, spotted our first pod of whales, Australian sea lion and dolphins were also close by. Moved to second pod with lots of breaching and fin banging. An excellent experience, crew very friendly and full of knowledge and bad jokes. A highlight of this trip.

We really enjoyed our whale watching tour. The boat was great there was lots of room and great viewing points. The guys were really knowledgeable and told us all lots of interesting facts about the whales and the bay. There were a couple of small negatives however, the driver constantly complained about the other charter companies. In my opinion this... More
