Crusty was our tour guide at Jewel Cave. Crusty (not his birth name) had all the answers with some light humor and we had plenty of time for taking photographs. Caves are spectacular and great value for money.

These caves were magnificent and the guide, Rikki, was knowledgeable and passionate. You must be able to walk up and down stairs but it is worth it! After visiting the caves you can walk around above the caves and see the lovely flora.

Nikki our guide was superb as she related well to all from 7-70 years. The cave was stunning with so many excellent examples of straws, stalagmites, stalagmites and columns. They are about 500 steps so not a good cave to experience if you have trouble with climbing. Highly recommend.

Alan, our guide was most informative and personable. The caves were fantastic. We went out of season, which was probably the best time as far as individual attention and answers to queries. Great opportunity to understand the Caves.

We visited on a very cool day and surprisingly, it was warmer in the Cave! Jewel Cave has the longest straw stalactite found in any tourist cave in the world AND it has 3 massive chambers. All the more reason to visit it. The tour lasts for 45 minutes and there are many opportunities to take photos. We really enjoyed... More

Definitely worth seeing. It has a series of stunning galleries each showing a different type of geological formation and type of stalactite or stalagmite. The lighting and colour displays were a feature of the tour. The guide Rikki was exceptionally knowledgeable and her vivid and moving description of the death of the thylacine that tragically met its untimely demise in... More

Dear Phil D, Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback on the stunning Jewel Cave. It certainly is an emotionally moving place, and one can feel quite deeply for the unfortunate animals that were unlucky enough to fall through the solution pipes in the roof and down into an inescapable cave. There are a few places in the... More

I was a. Fair bit worried when I realised that going through the Jewel cave meant 500 steps, because I have two very bad knees. I needn't have worried, the steps were well made, easy to go up and down, with hand rails and there wasn't any rush, surprisingly easy!! This cave was very beautiful and the guide was terrific,...
