Interesting to see the old cave. We then decided to try a wine tasting. €5 for two dribbles of wine? One bottle retailed at €11 and the other at €16. A complete rip-off

In Saint Emilion itself, so accessible without a car, this is an authentic wine cellar, free to visit though in all honesty unspectacular! On entering we were invited to explore the cellar at no charge and kind of felt obliged to. It was fun but I was pleased I had iOS 7 Installed so I could use the torch on... More

Free to visit, large cellars very close to town centre. You can visit the cellars without any pressure to buy or even to taste the wine. Great place to get an idea of what a real cellar in St Emilion looks like without having to book an official tour. Highly recommended and some good wine to taste and buy if... More

The tour here is free and they allow you to go through their caves on your own, or at least that is how it worked the day we were there. We really liked seeing the caves and how it connected to other caves via gates and bricked up walls. A really interesting place with good wine. We liked the 2003... More

Great underground caves - free to see. Wine tasting cost 2 euros each, for three tastes - very poor wines, we thought, and not much information from the host.

The caves were very nice with many bottles of wine and murals on the walls. Wine was very good and priced reasonably.

The cave and the wine store in the very center of the tiny village of St. Em. turned out to be the most charming experience. We were treated with some 20 different wines to taste, and the most charming hostess - Anne - which ended up at our table introducing the different wines, vintages and tastes. Needless to say we... One of the Chateau visits that is open all the time in St. Emilion. It's actually not the chateau but rather where they store and sell their wine ... just a 5 min walk from the main square in the town. Very informal ... just walk in. There is no fee, and they permit visitors to go downstairs to their... More
